eddiefletcher
Ok so as many of you know already Matia my bro died last year, well I was digging through his stuff today and found the last song he ever recorded. Including his vocals which now I find quite scarey as the are... As I walk into the night... always remember... I will never forget you. So here is the challenge. With so many talented musicians on this board please download this song and solo over it. I have thought about doing it myself but dont feel like I would do it justice. I'd rather open it up to all you guys. Lee was a talented guy, in the past he has worked with Robbie Williams, Geri Haliwell and the spice girls on there recordings and tutorings which I guess he didnt probably tell you... Silly bastard always did want to be the quiet one~! So see what you think. This particular track is pretty spiritual one so were looking for all the glam guys from the 80's I guess. Best track I'll produce myself and I will promise to release to all PG members on CD. hope this is ok with Brian and the MODS!!! but I'm willing to cut a pro copy of each CD and send it to each member of PG forum that wants one for shipping costs only. OK so here is the song and hopefully me Bri, Kev, Wes and cerealk can decide who is best. or even better I'll do a Poll when all entries are in and the winning vote gets it~! Is that ok guys! please let me know!!! here is the link... By the way it may be an idea if we pin this topic??? I'll leave it you guys! cheers! Matias song Peace be with all

MikeB
i *might* have a go if i feel up to it, its something i dont wanna ruin by bad playing or tone, nevertheless i may have a crack at it. and yes, its a very nice thought
Gorecki
I would like to give it a try. May take a little while to get familiar with it and to paint an appropriate melody over top. Not sure I have anything that converts a WMA audio format to use in ProTools..anyone know of a to WAV utility out there for this?
Southpa
Wow, it gives me the same vibe as Roger Water's song Amused To Death, give it a listen and you'll see what I mean. Your brother was truly gifted.

Alexander
I might have a go at it - it's a great piece of music. I'd be worried about ruining it by widdling all over the top, but I think I'll have a go and see what I come up with, if that's OK.
BLS
Damn, thats a beautiful song. Ill just improvise over it a bit and see if anything works.

Saber
I PM'd this link to Eddie. He suggested I post it here. I added an acoustic guitar solo in the first half of the song. I haven't yet decided what to do, if anything, in the second half. I hope you like it: Matia's Song Edited September 23, 2004 by Saber
eddiefletcher
Saber I think you really hit the spot with that! Fantastic and thanks for having a go! Now come on the rest of you lets see what we can do with this!!!

skibum5545
Man, Saber, that solo's really good. It reminded me alternately of the Allman Brothers and Mark Knopfler. Ultimately, it fit really well!
litchfield
What time do you want it to start?
Mike Doyle
I'm up for it definately. Its very nice, not really a SONG, but a nice backing track type thing. All I can say is build on it, unless its like a progression between songs on a CD, because it doesn't really go anywhere for 5 minutes! I'm getting my POD XT in the next week, and I'll throw a nice solo on there!
Saber
Man, Saber, that solo's really good. It reminded me alternately of the Allman Brothers and Mark Knopfler. Ultimately, it fit really well! Thanks a bunch! I was a bit inspired by an old album by Alex Degrassi called Altiplano. Now, I'm juggling a few ideas for an electric solo on the second half of the song.
Saber
Finally, fullservesite is working well enough after a week or so, that I managed to upload my latest version of Matia's Song. This version has both my acoustic and electric solos. Thanks to Lee for his beautiful song and to Eddie for the opportunity to add a little something to it. I hope you enjoy it: Matia's Song
