????

(currently planned about 10pedals)

I dont' remember.. just hit google for "wind your own transformer" It's a guy that makes guitar amps. My brother used to wind his own transformers. Not sure why, he was always making electrical concoctions.. usually hi-fi stuff. I know it's doable though. but.. if you're putting good money into a project like this it would be a shame to waste it all by using non-spec or otherwise suspect parts.

With a marshall clone, or any amp clone.. the magic is in the components. It really does matter what you use and where it's from..

The IOS allows switching between two inputs, then switching between two outputs (or so i've designed :D)

So i can switch between a tuner and effect loop

You have already been advised to use the edit button.

Alright. I just thought to mention that if you're building the 100-watter, you can forget the power tube saturation at a rehearsal or a smaller gig. And the power tube saturation is the thing we live for. And some die for. :D

I advise you to also invest into a cab with super-efficient speakers. It's like, a 50W amp with speakers of 100db efficiency will sound exactly as loud as a 100W amp with speakers of 97db efficiency.

Good luck with the project. The amp building is an addictive hobby.

I wonder if this kid gave up, ran outta money, finished it and it sounded like crap or electrocuted himself? :D

Maybe his rig turned out perfect and he's too busy playing through it at arena gigs to post here. I hope that's it. :D

With a rig that size, he would only be playing through it for about 5 mins before the pressure causes his lungs to collapse :D:D

Hi, I just noticed this thread so sorry if I repeat any info. If you are looking to build a tube amp I would highly recommend the AX84 website. I built the Hi-Octane amp on their and for a 6W amp it sounds great and can shake the foundations of my house.

As I progressed through my tube amp building experience, the people on the forum were very helpful... especially during the poking-around-the-wires-while-the-feedback-is-screaming phase that is part of every first high gain amp. The proper answer is wooden chopsticks.

Matt
