My first message in this forum and also first entry for gotm!

I just completed my guitar project "breadcaster".

I had one old bread box (from 50's) in my attic and get an idea to use that as base for my next guitar project.

Aspen body with old metal bread box (original paint)

Maple bolt on neck with rosewood fingerboard

2 alnico humbuckers

Telecaster-type of bridge

This is me first time entering GOTM, and I have no intention of winning. I just figured it would be better to enter, than not to.

This is my first guitar built from scratch.

The second guitar I've ever built. It is semi-hollow but the top and back are very thick because i was afraid of carving through to the cavities on both sides. This is the first guitar I've built including the neck.

Set Neck

Nut: Graphite

Neck: Maple

Fretboard: Cocobolo

Tuners: Gotoh Locking tuners

Topwood: Purple Heart

Middle: Mahogany

Back: Red Oak

Pickups: Carvin C22s

1 Tone 1 Volume

3 Way selector switch

1 coil tap switch

Gotoh Bridge and Tailpice

The nice picture was taken by a friend of mine and shows the color more accurately than my cheap digital camera.

My first entry as well for GotM...this is my second refinish. It's an asian landscape with a "Red Fog" setting in...

Notice here how the graphic of the body moves seamlessly into the pickguard graphic. Those were refinished separately of course.

And the matching headstock.

This guitar was built entirely from one bookmatched piece of 12/4 Cocobolo from Nicaragua. The only glue joints include the bookmatch and the fretboard. (you can see the grain following it's way up the neck in the second picture). There is no finish. The raw wood was buffed to a mirror finish. There is no front or rear routing. The knobs are mounted to plugs, which are pressed into place, and sanded clean. Please exuse the amateur photography and the lack of truss rod cover. I was rushing to finish for this thread. Hopefully you appreciate the out of the box thinking and good luck voting!
