The winner(s) of course will have his/her guitar featured on the homepage of Project Guitar.com and if you have a website the picture will link directly to it if you so choose (even commercial site's).

If your a forum member you will also be upgraded to a Featured member which allows you to see the Advanced Chat section and download area.

So show us your creation in this thread! You've got till sometime around the 23rd or 24th of July then this thread gets locked and the voting starts!

Hi guys - presenting 'Scarab'.

Solid body mahogony electric guitar with Kent Armstrong P90 and PAF pickups. The fretboard is ebony with sterling silver inlay, bound in maple. There's Zebrano veneer on the headstock, and it's got the Steinberger tuners that I love - still not sure why! Tonepros locking hardware, and a blend pot setup allowing for a lot of tonal variation. Hope you guys like it!

The design and finish on the body is beetle-esque - it's pearlescent green and purple metallic finish, changing colour in different light angles. The sterling silver inlay is in what I call a 'constellation' design. The body shape is supposed to be a combination of feminine and insectoid - it's to represent Nuit, the Egyptian Goddess who gave birth to the stars - represented by the fretboard inlay. The body shape evokes a scarab beetle - the symbol of the gods. The Zebrano headstock brings a slightly more natural timber feel to the guitar, also evoking the reed or papyrus that the egyptians used as a writing material.

The guitar plays not unlike a 70s Les Paul - heavy but responsive. It has incredible sustain (way more than any guitar I've built before), so it's got a lot of playability. It's a fun guitar - great sound from the Kent Armstrongs, and great fun to play. Hope you guys like it.

Well, I said I'd submit a wood porn guitar this month, but it looks like I lied.

This is the "Abused Blues #1" (it's the first of a series).

This guitar has been evolving for a while. I finished it around October, but I've kept working on it. Originally, it was shiny and pretty, but I thought it would look better beat up, so I dinged it, scratched it, and even drug it on the ground until it looked right. I left it like that until a few weeks ago. I decided to keep it for myself (lots of people thought about buying it, but nobody did and it's literally made for my hand) and I set it on fire. I didn't get the look I wanted, so I took a torch to it. I also put on shorter frets, so I decided to lower the bridge. At first, I wanted to do it cleanly, but then i decided to keep with the theme of the guitar and just carve out a messy trench for it.

From the beginning, it was meant to be a guitar that you play without worrying about scratching it. Basically, I wanted the player to be able to concentrate on playing and not worrying about his pretty, pristine guitar. I only took it to an extreme recently.

The sound is unique. Lower notes have nice woody tones, but higher notes and strings are more piano-like. It sustains forever. The string retainer bar is a recent addition. It used to have normal string trees, but I wanted to see what would happen if I drastically changed the angle of the strings before the nut. It gave it a little more bite, even on fretted notes. I'm extremely happy with the sound and playability. It has the lowest action I've ever achieved (about .96mm at the 12th). I can't seem to put it down.

This is my Pointy Stick, my second body, first neck

If you didn't read the thread here's what you missed,

My friend told me about this great timber shop, I went to check it out, came back with a huge slab of ash and some lovely rock maple.

I designed the shape using a pencil and paper, hacked it out, bought some Gotoh hardware and a single coil pup and a Redback humbucker

Swapped a lot of jokes on the forum, had a stack of laughs, got heaps of help, ideas and encouragement. Stained it blue, rubbed back, stained it black, rubbed back stained it blue again. Finished the guitar, I love the feel of it and the sound, posted a video of it at

This is my third build finished nicknamed "Seth" who was the enemy of Osiris, also the 12th fret inlay on this axe. The build is for my wife who is a big fan of Egyptology and not such a big fan of my building addiction.

Specs:

Body: Tassie blackwood base with a burmese teak top finished with 2k poly.

Neck:Ebony fingerboard inlayed with greenlip abalone shell handpicked from the ocean by me and my father in law. Maple/ Sheoak/ Maple finished with tungoil for a sleek,fast feel with a burmese teak headstock veneer topped with 2k poly.

Scale: 25.25 inch or 641mm, 22 frets

Hardware: gotoh tuners, wilkinson VS100-n floating trem, tele style knobs, schaller locking strap buttons, carbon nut, silver nickel frets, stew mac 2 way hot rod truss rod, stewmac black oval jackplate.

electronics: 2vol, 1 tone and 2 push/pulls with a 3 way blade style switch. Neck pickup splits, bridge pickup has series/parallel switching which im super impressed with.

Pickups: Irongear Rolling mill in the neck and Hot slag in the bridge. Im in love with the raunchy crunchy tones the hot slag produces, but the rolling mill needs to be fatter. It would be better balanced in a warm,dark toned body IMO. I may change this out for a warmer/fatter neck pickup at a later date. (Any suggestions?)

Sound: unplugged this guitar has a beautifully clear tone more towards the bright side than warm. Resonates nicely throughout the whole body, kinda feels like its alive when your in a sitting position with the guitar touching your ribcage.
