Help With Inlay Steps

Recommended Posts

I'm doing this inlay for a commision, but not entirely sure how to attack it. Where do I start as in cleaning the peices and fitting it together?

I of course rought cut them out first, but what order do I make them fit each other?

Here is a pic of it, it'll be about 3"x3"

Not positive I understand your question, but if I take a guess there is another way to do this. Super Glue the entire piece together and then route it in as one piece. I hope this is what you meant.

I am not an inlay expert, but you pretty much have a spiral shape inlay. I woud just pick the center most piece and work out from there in a spiral.

I think I'll make red peice #1 perfect, then do everypeice that touches it, then continue with very adjacent peice untill its done, flip it over, glue it together, then inlay it. The pearl and jasper are different thickness'.
