jbkim
hmmm... I'm still thinking of buying an ADA MP-1.... used to have one way back then... and I recall I really liked it... There are as many things I love about it as I hate about it . Prices on ebay have been in the low $100's but since the AdaDepot site became REALLY popular with all the new mods for it, the prices are high $100's... sometimes selling in the $200's. Drak
I'm old-school tone. I like big, fat, meaty transformers to give me the cavernous tight bottom, especially thru the 4-10/1-15. The pre-amp might control the overdrive, but these puppies have something to say ALL their own. Everyone comes to their tone in their own way, that's part of the fun. lovekraft
Here's my working rig- Axes: '92 Carvin LB-70 '93 BC Rich Custom Shop Bich 8-string, and The Korean Sisters Ibanez 6 Vantage 6 Dean Rhapsody 12 Galveston 12 Amp setup: Shure wireless, into SansAmp PSA-1, stereo out into BBE Sonic Maximizer, into Mackie power amp ( can't remember which one, around 450w/channel at 4 0hms) generic 4-10 cab, wired stereo. Simple, versatile and almost bullet-proof. The PSA-1 is hands down the best SS preamp I have ever heard. I tried the Bass POD and that Behringer thing, but they always sound like a recording of a good amp to me.
