How To Make A Notched Straightedge Like Stewart Macdonald For $1

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just wrote a tutorial about how to make a notched straightedge like the one Stewart MacDonald sells. For those who are not familiar with this tool, it allows you to check the straightness of your fingerboard without the frets getting in the way. Stew-mac sell this tool, made from machined stainless steal, for about $80. I made mine from acrylic and it works great and cost me about $1 in material.

Take care,
