SykoDJ
so I have a wierd question the other day I was looking at my design and though how much easier it would be to mount a pickup if I glued a thin peice of wood in the pickup housing. now here is my question how do you think combining 2 materials like plastic and wood would affect resonance? Tim37
People worry about tone way too much. A small piece of wood glued in a cavity will most likely have such a small impact on tone that you will never notice.
ScottR
I agree with Tim completely. Also consider that you have already combined those two materials in that your neck is wood.....Another consideration is that the addition of the wood could just as easily be an improvement in tone, not that you will ever know, because you will only hear it the the way you built it, not the way you didn't build it. Either way, rest assured it will sound like a guitar. SR
