Snork Posted January 19, 2004 Report Share Posted January 19, 2004 Ok does anyone know how the Teardrop plays and sounds? aparently its majestical. I'm trying to figure out my next guitar design. I know it's going to be an archtop and most likely the teardrop. I also am planning on making a mini tenon. it should be really interesting. however to compensate for the resonance loss with the tenon on the back and top soundboards. I will make the archtop 18" as opposed to 17". This will be a very cool sounding guitar. however i'm still determining hte woods. i love the wood from the taylor 400 series. it sounded AMAZING. but i may be more traditional if the tear drop sounds good enough. anyone have info? They 'say' it has a better and deeper bass response. Snork, you ever hold an 18" archtop for more than 10 minutes? Quite cumbersome and kind of tiring to play after awhile. My opinion of course...
