spottydog
I think its a"raisin"ing what you can do and learn as you get older.

spottydog
Revisiting one of my first guitars. This is the middle of the fretboard. Through this I learned to constantly check that the fretboard is flat when sanding the radius curve.

spottydog
I'm much better now. I'm sorry to say that I am not one of these people who can build a world class guitar at their first attempt. I just plug away at it until I get it right enjoying what I do
spottydog
For the 335 build I was thinking of a semi hollow routed body, a flat back and a carved top a bit like a semi hollow L Paul would be.
spottydog
I'm trying to find someone who can copy my plan so that I can cut out patterns to make templates but so far its going to cast around £40 to get it done
Prostheta
I do mine at home using an A4 laser printer, with a 1cm/10cm minor/major gridding in the background so that I can align the pages straight and accurately relative to each other on template stock. This also eliminates (or spots) printer scaling errors (mine needs to print at 104,1%) and makes several copies no big deal. For more or less that price I can get body templates laser cut in acrylic....!
spottydog
I have used an A4 printer in the past but have found that the copies are sometimes elongated slightly, if that makes sense, however the griding system should overcome this problem. Prostheta
Never had elongation, only scaling issues. A test print can rattle these out and you either compensate in printer settings or back in the program itself.
spottydog
I have got plan copied and now have a rather large jigsaw to fit together
Prostheta
Let's have a look once you do. I hope the scaling worked out.
spottydog
I'm having a few problems with my plan I have bits missing here and there and the sections don't all match up. It is the first time I have copied the whole plan to use I have only done sections in the past. It may be down to how I have the original plan folded or maybe its because im just stupid !!! Prostheta
How did you get this....? As a PDF? PM me a copy and I'll check it at this end. I don't think that those plans are very good, but for the most part they are known to be adequate. I'll see if I can spot anything that's obviously incorrect, but do let me know exactly what you're struggling with. Most things are fixable. spottydog
It's a full size plan that I am trying to to copy to cut for templates. So it is a straight forward copy or it should be
Prostheta
I see. Is the matching down to a copy issue or alignment of the parts?
spottydog
I think it's down to alignment of the parts
spottydog
Hi, A quick question. Has anyone used Red Grandis before, it is a hardwood from the Eucalyptus family and is supposed to machine well and take a good finish.
