avengers63
I decided to make my youngest daughter a Japanese tatami style bed. Cherry came WAY down in price, so it was a no-brainer for wood choice. I also had a big piece of flamed maple (her favorite) that has a big knot in the middle - perfect for a feature panel. As the construction style is knockdown, I decided to make this using ONLY wood & glue - no metal fasteners or bracing whatsoever. legs glued up, rails about at 75%, testing the fit. Nothing had been trimmed to final size yet. trying to decide the width (height) of the feature panel The flamed panel got a deep cove reveal and a mild dye/sandback it always looks better with some finish on it! final test fitting and measuring to make the support braces, center brace, and cross rails I found be a new shop mascot!!!!!! She's an honest-to-God pinup model. This is actually the jig/sled I made to cut acoustic guitar kerfing. I'm soooooo happy I found a new use for it! It worked like a dream cutting the slots uniform for the cross bracing.
