jaxcat
Started this a week ago. Been going well but had slight bit of bleed through on edge. Oh well still looks OK to me. Kind of a tele aerodyne style body with curved top and back. Flamed maple top and poplar back, which will be done in a white wash effect. jaxcat
Thanks. I think i should have sealed the edge first before stain but it actually looks like stain is coming from the grain inside outwards so not sure if it would have helped. ADFinlayson
That's a very pretty top, love the shape too. I've always found the best way to tidy up any bleed along the edges after staining is to scrape the edge lightly with a fresh scalpel blade. I stain the top first, then seal it, then scrape before sealing the back and sides.

So... tell me about your process. was this cnc, did you use a radius jig for the body, was it hand carved?
ShatnersBassoon
That has a lovely luminense to it! Am I using the right word? Reminds me of morning sunlight hitting an outdoor swimming pool. Edited April 9, 2019 by ShatnersBassoon
