I am trying to decide between a Stew Mac SG kit or a kit from Solo as a first introduction to guitar building. Is the more expensive Stew mac kit worth the money? mistermikev Posted June 3, 2019 Report Share Posted June 3, 2019 can't speak to the quality of what they sell today, but 20 years ago I bought a flamed maple/mahog tele body from them and it was very high quality for the price. I think back then it cost me $150ish... but it's a 4A top and really nice.
