Is that tiger stripes or saw marks in the sapwood? Very nice anyhow!

thought is was black limba at first.  beautiful stuff.  that's gonna make a fantastic guitar.

It said flamed in the advert so I am assuming tiger stripes, fingers crossed 😁

The parquet factory outlet was permanently closed just when I was passing by on a working day. We even made an extra 50 km round for it... 😠 Had it still been open I might have bought an armful of more or less exotic hardwood blanks.  Wood is now failing on me...

Ok...here’s a question. What do you think? The top of the guitar as the predominantly brown end? Or include some of the flamed section on the top? Decisions decisions....

That's a tough one! The white sapwood has most of the flame but there's some beautiful dark stripes on the heartwood side. Slice it and make both! Or even, split it and make two bookmatched tops!
