Drak
If this gets pinned, I'll edit in a boatload of notes. If not, the pics are pretty self-explanatory as they sit, I'll just let it roll on down as is. But to fill in the basics: I started this about 3 months ago or so... 3/4" quartersawn Walnut on top 3/4" Honduran Mahogony under that 1/4" Eastern Maple on the bottom. I used the Maple to bring it up to 1 3/4" in case I decided to Floyd it, that's why it's there...but I don't think I'm going to in the end...probably another TOM/Stop thang. Veneer is Waterfall Bubinga from the 'bay. Sides are pattern-matched to the top The back has a rear body bout on it now The control cavity has also been routered out The finish that is on it is Tru-Oil, but it will be shellaced and lacquered by the end. I will most likely add in some Blood Red Solar Lux as a light toner before all is said and done. It looked kinda cool as it was, I almost left it without binding, it has a kind of 'butcher block' look to it, but when it's glossy and finished, the binding will be worth it. I'm thinking of using Pearl binding for it,maybe B/W/Pearl...not sure yet... The post would only take 10 pics, that's why it's broken up into 2 threads. Later Gators!
