The weigh in before the photo shoot...

Some pics in its usual spot

And then outside for some glamour shots...

Still need the control plate tidied, but going to see how I feel about the other one first and it also needs a final polish up.

Hopefully can take it round to a friends place soon so he do a full test and record a video in his home studio. (he doesn't know this yet though... shhhh!)

Wasn't happy with how the bridge was sitting and the intonation was slightly out on the bass side.

So today I made a new bridge, premeasured to make sure it would be in exactly the right position for the intonation.

The new bridge, same saddle. Slightly slimmer, but a bit taller.

Cleaned up where the glue squeezed out and gave it a buff.

New bridge in place. Can now access the thumbwheels a lot easier, but with the new height bridge the posts are at the lowest point and the action is spot on. Not the best pic, had gone dark outside and just wanted to show the new look bridge position.

This looks awesome. Love the figure on the oak and all the golden woody tones. Esp love the custom wood hardware! The screws on the tailpiece are sticking out to me-maybe they need to be covered? or doweled? or black/brass?

Thanks Charlie. Those screws are bugging me too. I haven't got any suitable black/brass ones at the moment, but as soon as I can get some they will be replaced.

Why not just make wood plugs? like rounded off caps wedged in there to cover the screws?

Anyway - totally awesome build, that's an understatement too

She's so pretty! A traditional shape for ergonomics, electronics positioning from another tradition for easy remembering and some unique details to make it your own. What's not to love?

A black sharpie or a golden paint pen might be enough to make up the screws!

Have now finished my daughters guitar, oak body and maple neck. Didn't take many pics during this build, so thought I would just put it on the end of this build project.

This is the colour and shape she wanted, so apologies for the colour...

Last night my brother asked me to make something for him, non guitar related, but thought I would show what stopped me from getting started on the next project...

First coat of stain

Made a bowl and stained it, before oiling

And then made a stand for it.

Replica of Gandalf's pipe :)

Next project can be started soon...

A pink guitar with a silver metallic racing stripe, looking to be be quite a player, Gandalf's pipe, and a bonsai.

There is symmetry there somehow.....seeds for a compelling story, waiting for the storyteller to pick them up and take them home.

Why? If that's what the owner wanted and there's no AAA figured wood hidden under the paint it's totally fine. I can imagine a female band wearing undersized furry HelloKitty jumpers showing their bellybuttons, fluffy pony tails, popsicles... Looking cute as can be and playing the dirtiest garage punk! As @ScottR said it's looking to be quite a player.

Did you make the stem of the pipe hollow or is it just a replica?

Wow, the pink one looks really nice actually. Great job on both of them.

As @Bizman62 said (minus the visible bellybutton and pony tails)... I'd slap a sticker or two on it and play some Dead Kennedys :D

Hollowed around 2 inches in, just for the look, so just a replica.

I agree, if it is what the client wants then it's fine. Was just kidding. My wife and I have been joking with our daughter about it all through the build, saying it is a really nice looking guitar, just a shame it isn't black ;)

Thanks, the daughter is over the moon with it, she hasn't put it down since I finished it. She is only just starting on guitar, but she is a fast learner and very musical, she has already taught herself to play keyboard, violin and ukulele.
