JFC
This is my second guitar, so be gentle Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard fretted with jumbo frets. The "inlays" on the head and fretboard are some kind of acryllic (spelling?) plastic. I have lots of "in progress" pics if anyone is interested... JFC
two questions... 1. what kind of pickup covers are those? 2. where did you get the wood for that neck? its AMAZING! beautiful work! t The pickups are those cheap, passive EMG's wich I painted silver and put a chrome sticker on them. I'm gonna put "real" emg's in it when I can afford it... The neck wood is Maple wich I stained with "mahogany brown" The head has a rosewood veneer from the same piece as the fretboard. asm
hehe. the pickups look like they have an aluminum cover and the neck fooled me for being rosewood. nice! how much did the laser engraving cost? t

JFC
how much did the laser engraving cost? Nothing I have access to the machine at work. But if I would have paid for it I guess about 20 USD for the covers and inlays. one question: What is that?..some kind of fret press??? Yes, thats my homemade fretpress it's not beautiful but it works... You can enter more than once, TSL has won twice i belive. Its worth a shot man! Really? maybe I will then

Bounty Hunter
Would it be possible to see some pix of the fret press (and brief how-to description if you don't mind)?
mdw3332
That's beautiful. A couple of questions - How did you do the stripe around the body? Is it binding or a masked off area that you didn't stain? How did you do the depressions around the knobs / switch? I love the neck - the binding on that wood looks great. Nice work. vladdrac
Would it be possible to see some pix of the fret press (and brief how-to description if you don't mind)? Yeah..i second That...i´m very intrigue.. cheers..
El Dangerouso
Excellent work! Great looking with some cool mechanics/electronics. I'll bump mdw3332's questions. I'm very interested in how you did you binding. It looks B A D A Double S. Edit: I see from your pics it was masked off. You almost had me bowing to the master. It still looks nothing short of excellent. Hats off! Still interested in the knob/switch depressions.
JFC
I'll get some pics of the fretpress, but its really nothing special, it just presses the frets in place Yes, the "binding" around the body was masked off. The knoob/switch depression (huh?...) was done by chisels, knife and sandpaper. Alder is a very nice wood to work with
