Myka Guitars
JohnJohn, you picked a great book! Archtops are very cool instuments to build. Have fun and come back with pics of your progress!
soapbarstrat
I was just looking up info about hollowbody guitars that have pine for the top wood, and came across info that Benedetto made a great sounding guitar with hardware store grade pine for the top. I guess his book mentions it. Also makes me want to experiment with pine for a strat pickguard. Old pine is so easy to find.
Jehle
That is a great book. I have it too! Even if you never build a jazz guitar, it's nice to see how he does the carving (see the PRS copy thread for a great example of that technique for a solid body), and for how he laminates the neck from cut outs of a 3/4" maple board.
