Will's "Les Paul Standard"
| My brother built this for me from scratch. All hardware, the beautiful maple top, and Brazilian fretboard were purchased from eBay. He bought the Honduras Mahogany for the body and neck locally. The pickups are early 80's Gibson "Tim Shaw" zebras. The guitar was built from 50's Les Paul plans, long neck tenon and all. The faded tobacco brown finish was all trial and error in an attempt to come close to the color of one of Duane Allman's LP's. The color cannot be duplicated and the flame is absolutely beautiful to see in person. The neck was carved to my liking. Needless to say, its the finest LP I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few. Sounds terrific. Best part is I can never sell it, for obvious reasons. Enjoy. |
