I had to go with the timberlan because It's so similar to the bass I'm building.

What did you use to make them?

Personally I don't like pickguards on my guitars but they do look good some times so it's totally up to you. I'd suggest drawing a few pictures with the guard and see which one you like more.

I was thinking about it because I think they look really cool. But then I realized If I make my own I can make them look almost any way I want. Oh and thanks Masina.

Can anyone give me any help for building some pickups for a bass?

So has anyone here ever made their own pickups that actually sound good? my cousin made some and they sound like crap.

When you guys build your guitars do you Prefer paint, stain,wax, or some other method? I'm not sure what to do with mine so I wanted to know your thoughts.

Can anyone help me with the fret spacing for a 34" neck

The third one in the clean recording sounded odd to me

well i wanted to know if I should use extra wood to make the neck wide enough to cut the head out or wait to see if I have enough leftover wood to make the head. And I wasn't sure if there was some kind of structural advantage between the two.

I'm making my first bass and just wanted to know which way would be better.

Would you guys recomend building the head seperate or cutting it out of the neck wood.
