  1. thin Ibanez..was it the Frank Gambale Sabre model that was super thin?...What ever happened to Franky?
  2. hey thanks Woz, rude?...lol I am not fragile man..I didnt tke that as rude..I think Jackson is the idea though coz I am having no luck and I just dont see them anywhere else?
  3. ya, thanks Woza, eBay was the second place I looked and no luck
  4. Allo, Anybody know where can buy toggle like this big ol Jackson selector?...Black would be a bonus but I honestly have not even seen this size in black on a git....Cheers and thanks eh Bobby.
  5. aahh yup I think that might be it ...bless your heart
  6. Gday Greg, ya its a complete teardown, the thing is stripped and paintless etc so its no real heartache for the fill I guess I should of mentioned that. I dont use/like the "normal" tone pots...Im just a simple ol school metal grinder so I am just one dirty growl tone 24/7..THe look I am going for is just the one knob. It will be the volume knob and in the "pushed' or down position it will be the bridge buker and then pulled (twice a year perhaps at funerals?) it would switch to the FB buker..so three functions with 1 knob for that spartan look I love. Hope that explains a bit better...cheerio chaps
  7. Gday I have a situation with a pair of EMG's (Active-81-85, well actually a Zak Wilde Set) anyhoo I am going to ditch and fill in the pcik up selector, question is for a method or diagram to have a push pull knob select between the two bukers. I am not interested in the middle selection of both pickeps etc. Didnt have any luck with the search function could someone point me in the right direction?
  8. With my snakewood FB I went with a solid matt colour (Black) across the guitar, after much trial an error and mockupiness it seemd obvious by the end that the pattern and colour of the snakewood is so strong that any other character in the design just makes everything a bit confused and unbalanced. Further, with the Snakewood so $$ and drop dead gorgeous the matt paintwork with any details serves to frame the focal point of the guitar ie the SW, nothin then detracts from the centerpoint of the build. For the feminine touch just little things then, a tiny warm pink highlight here and there and dont forget them gem inlay dot markers!
  9. Mate, i bought two DVD quality cameras, and two tripods last year, with the intention of doing some videos. If i wasnt always in a mad rush to finish off each guitar for a special gig/tour/show, id be able to do the videos i planned See now theres an idea, something different, you gotta get that hectic crud on film like a documentary...show the less appealing side of lutheringinging ...we all know the high glamour, women, affluence, travel and hobnobbing involved with pro luthiers, how bout the darker side
  10. Just before he uses the pin router you should spot him screwing in the template to the rear which guides the movement for the route.
  11. ah thats intersting, I was about to edit my post to chuck in that question as well, nice pre emptive strike thanks hoogle.
  12. My good friend John from my old Rotary Club returned from Africa recently after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro (http://coolamonrotary.com/kili/) we spent about a year planning it was fun...anyhoo, I have been after a can (Afri-Can/Township guitars) for years now and Johnathon was kind enough to buy me one .. Man oh man they have (somehow?) a really sweet warm jazz tone the pickup are truly super duper crude but they are just incredibly warm lol. Anybody else played or own one got any thoughts on the can?...here are some pics of pickup and neckjoint etc. http://www.uploadedstuff.com/1.jpg http://www.uploadedstuff.com/2.jpg http://www.uploadedstuff.com/3.jpg http://www.uploadedstuff.com/4.jpg
  13. Can anyone hazard to guess if there would be any interoperability issues with the following, can they co exist in harmony ..the only this I am missing is the sustainer, if its is not going to be compatible with the set up I just do not want to blow my $$ on it. (Fernandes Sustainer http://fernandesguitars.com/fsk101.html) (Dual humbucker set up with the sustainer in the neck H position, Ceramic Bareknuckle (passive) Warpig in the bridge to drive the sustainer etc) EMG Phase shifter (Pi2) Kill Switch EMQ Pre amp boost (PA2) I dont really understand the relationship between the BH and NH, how the BH drives the sustainer etc, and whether the phase shifter will interfere in either on or off position. Hopefully it will have nothing to do with each other but I dont have the smarts to figure it after a day of reading lol...sigh
  14. hmmmmm...this project design looks like its almost an aggression outlet?...therapy anyone?lol...I must say those lines scratch me where I itch though...is there any equipment or trick to getting spray in and around areas like that or is it just all in the wrist?..I have even brushed on super thick poly on bits I could not spray into and sanded as best I could and rinse and repeat, but ..well it sucked.
  15. bah..still having no luck.. have to give this one a bump...has is it all just fallen of f the face of the earth?
