  1. I think you all know what I'm talking about. When you're wearing the guitar, and you can hear the sound of the guitar strap (I use dunlop double-locking straplocks) through the amp. Is there any way to get rid of it besides using a noise gate, or turning off the amp?
  2. In fact, bring an extra drummer.
  3. Cool. I was always concerned with warping the neck and stuff like that. I didn't want a multi-stand thing, because I like having them displayed (I don't play well enough to necessitate the type and amount of gear I have, so they'd better be art too ) Also, I have a few "odd" style guitars (explorers, V's) that don't fit wekk into those multi-stand things that look like guitar cases or brief cases. I run into the finish reaction with the tube stands I use now. I just buy cheap face cloths or dish towels, and attach them over the rubber parts. Works well, doesn't cause problems.
  4. I'm about to buy a house, and I wanted to take a room for my music stuffs. (I'm single, so I can build a temple to my wasted youth without pissing off a wife-type.) I have a bunch of guitars, and I was thinking about using the wall hanger thingies to hang them all on the wall. But I wasn't sure if they are a really good idea. I have (most of) them on regular guitar stands with the neck support (I don't trust the small compact ones). Does anyone know anything good or bad about using the wall hangers?
  5. Yes. ALWAYS bring a tuner you can trust, and EVERYONE use it to tune. I've played in bands where the basist would use his own tuner and always be a hair flat.

    Straps?

I favor the dunlop dual-locking straplocks. I use Levy's 2" plain black leather straps (M-7 or something like that). They are a pain to find out, cause all of the shops have all those crazy design or thick-on-one-end, thin-on-the-other straps. I'm simple, just a 2" plain black leather strap.
  7. I dont hate you.....but i will do you a favour and take all those *horrible* guitars off your hands. Call it an even 10 bucks?! Make it $10 & shipping and maybe we have a deal.
  8. Yeah, pix please. Heres my stuffs: Pushead's Page of Equipment and Stuff
  9. I've never had a good experience with Ibanez. I've owned 3, all mid to high range guitars, and all of them had less-than-acceptable hardware. Tuners strip out, bridge shifts, or crappy pickups . I own 2 ESPs right now, and havn't had any problems with them.
  10. No, I had to use an overdrive pedal to beef it up. It was as if I was using a low input to the amp instead of the high (not a feature on that Marshall). Either way, the amp is long gone now. Once I had a more stable income, I bought a Mesa (and then a second one...)
  11. Yeah 2x12" speakers. The 8060 or some weird number, I can't remember. Mine was the same, 2 distortions. The "OD2" just didn't have enough kick. I even replaced the tube to see if that was it. I played it with guitars from everything from EMG 81s, Gibson 500Ts, Duncan JBs and distortion pickups. It just didn't thicken up. It didn't have enough "umpf" for me. It didn't sound like a Marshall. Like most others have said, the only way to know is to go and play through it yourself.
  12. If it is a Line 6 Vetta (or whatever they call it) is probably the most expensive piece in that rig. But the Mesa preamp might be decent.
  13. I had the 2-12 version. It didn't have enough gain IMO. I'm not a super huge gain head, but it sounded like it was on 6 when it was on 10. It didn't sound enough like a Marshall to me.
  14. I'm not knocking it, it just doesn't work for me.
