  1. oh so this amp has no tube distortion at all?? so it's distortion sounds like one on a solid state amp... wow thats not good for a tube amp! so i also can't use this amp for allaround stuff just for ballsy rock, metal shred stuff?
  2. some say that marshall jcm900 was the WORST jcm that is ever built, why do they say that?
  3. i play some clapton (blues), classic rock, funk and i also play some metal (sometimes). i really won't tolerate having a bad clean sound...
  4. so let's get on this... i want to buy a tube amp and a frend is selling me a marshall JCM900 4100 model... (don't know what year that model was), so i just want to hear some feedback from you guys of what do you think of this marhsall head... its 100 watts all tube etc. etc. don't know much about the dtails, but just post what you think of this amp.. thanks guys and aloha!!
  5. i just have 4 pedals and for me it's the perfect setup with a half stack jcm800. I have a cry baby fasel wah, an old od-1 over drive pedal (japan made) sweet sweet tone, an mxr dist+ and a fender pt-100 floor tuner. I think that simple setups rules, less noise less cables!
  6. perloid pickup covers... i hope that tis is the one that your looking for! good luck..
  7. wow, i like all of theese guitarists!!!
  8. i voted for marshall, but where is huges & kettler??thes sound awsome nice warm clean souund and a great classic rock distortion...but i still prefer marshall tho...
  9. waw!!!looks great!!!i hope it sounds great too!!
  10. the new ibanez weeping-deamon is also a cool wah, try it!
  11. i say strat! strats can deliver you an array different tones, and single coils are really dynamic you could put your heart and soul to your play! humbuckers just aint dynamic enough for me, and like other members said, you can get a verry dirty tone on a strat (a la les paul)!!but no one can ever get that razor sharp clean tone on a les paul...besides the new strats this yoear (2004) are really great, fender really did some real progress, the new deluxe strats are really great with the new semarium cobald noisless and the new s-1 swithch the strat is mere versaille than ever 10 different tones just on a touch of a button $$ and that my friends no one can get on a les paul!!
  12. for me the sound doesent mater so much between ebony and rosewood, but rosewood has a warmer tone and the ebony is a bit like maple, almost the same tone! i prefer rosewood for a fingerboard, because of that soft feel (the grains are more present) on the rosewood. ebony is more hatder i wouldnt say faster because all the "fast metal guitars" has rosewood fingerboards (ibanez, jackson, esp) almost all of their guitars has rosewood fingerboards! so for me ebony is NOT faster, it just has a very different feel form rosewood...but taste is very important, try them both for a some time, then you will see the differences and the ones that you like... -cheers!!!
  13. i alrady saw loose pickups in some guitars (cheap ones), the guitar vendor on the shop told me that that wont afect the sound, but on a PRS thats not normal. i alerady played some PRS santana se and i remember that the pickups were stable, and not moving.try to talk to the guitar vendor where you bought the guitar maybe he'll fix it for ya!-cheers!
  14. i'd say maple would be beautifull, and it will bring a bit of highs on the korina body...
  15. waw the les paul looks realy realy good..nice work...
