    Oh yes, including links to buy every drug under the sun including some I never heard of. For what ever reasons, someone believes it works and they will continue until it doesn't. In the mean time, I delete ~15-25 accounts a day.

    I have to audit every single new account before they can post in my place to keep it from happening and It's a royal PITA. I've deleted 416 accounts to date since January 1st.

    I agree, I have both, GuitarRig 2 and GuitarPort. Both have made recording guitar considerably easier but the GuitarRig allows so much more flex and sound. I've managed to get some really good sounds dialed on the GuitarPort but I can control the GuitarRig at runtime so much more it doesn't compare!

    A friend of mine has been wanting me to play on his Fuch's (I think he's an endorsee) but I haven't been up his way to try them. Let us know how it sound?

    Interesting... I get the same This is because a different cookie should be being created for each url. The ultimate solution is when logged out. Delete any cookies related to projectguitar.ibforums.com and then login. Should correct the problem.

    Yes, it's very rare the head can't be adjusted. Sometimes they're automated, sometimes a nice little access to the screws point, sometimes they're a PITA! Technically, you could probably even use one of the 16 track 1/2 units, just playback every other track.

    You should be able to do it. You may have so differences in heads and azmuth but *basically* should work.

    Good decision! I picked one of those up a while ago (but I only paid $300, sucks they raised the price) and I put Dimarzio Evolutions in it and did a good setup and it's a little screamer now. I would suggest doing something like this to anyone wanting a Jem, way over priced for what it really is...IMO!

    Emu has been annoying me since they became part of Creative Labs but honestly I still managed to buy a couple of their products. No experience with their midi controllers though. I've been using the M-Audio Oxygen8 v2 (25key) for quick stuff and the only short comings are now I really wish I went for the 49 key version (many times I want to use both hands and 25 keys is too small) AND I wish it had an expression pedal jack (only has sustain). Otherwise...good little controller and I find the transport and programmable knobs useful. Basically, make certain what ever you go with will do ALL of what you want it to do. The technology isn't super fancy and likely the feel of the unit, features it offers and reliablity will be the things you'll find most important.

    Gawd, that brought back memories, no I don't have them. But did have them stored away for a long time (purple/black tiger were my favorite) until stolen with most pictures from my past. I got robbed a couple of times in Oakland and lost stuff no one in this world would want but me. Thing missed most is recordings. Didn't do the teased hair much but remember freezing my bunn's off with those darn things, was so glad when shredded jeans came into popular stage garb. Ohhh...NEVER did makeup either! Man, I had some fun back in those days!!!

    Didn't see this until now. GuitarPort is the Unit. Rifftracker is an add on software. Frankly for what it costs, it's garbage. You're better off buying a multi-track software like Cubase SE..or related. I have a GuitarPort and like it quite a lot. Recently added NI's GuitarRig 2, like it as well. But it's only hardware with supporting software. Hope it helps.

    No they don't, they look lame, a big body covered with a guard. Looks more like a 'opps we screwed up the surface so we'll cover it up with a pickguard'. Next thing you know Gibson will be offering a Hello Kitty model.

    Yeah, MF pissed me off about a year ago and haven't given them a cent since. In a nutshell, their 'if you find a better price we'll match it' thing was, they lowered the price on a product I just bought, so I notified them I wanted the $15 difference (yes, only $15). They didn't respond for 5 days where in they had changed their price back and said 'what are you talking about?'. So they basically lost a customer who had spent thousands over $15 bucks....idiots!

    No major problems, SX3 and the Delta series work well. It really depends on what you want to use it for and how you want to use it? I find Cubase to have the most flexible MIDI and sample integrated editors. Intuitive buses and plugin usage. You can get Cubase 4 now with the new version of VST technology integrated. Very cool new features.

    O one peice of advice I forgot to give is to ignore my horrible typing! The one draw back to the internet community is that we don't have a very good way of sharing our music with one and another in a live setting, I am sitting here thinking how cool it would be to jam with some of you guys, imagaine what we could all share with each other.     It's pretty hard to be a Musican if you don't know the language of Music. A person can play and have fun but evenually you'll get bored and a limit gets hit. To be able to fall back on theory and you don't have 'inspiration', there's an arrow pointing right to it. Guitar players have been led a stray, what other instruments in formal music training don't require theory? Other than percussion (and sometimes they do too), nobody! Because it's an important part of the music training process. Guitar players it became acceptible for bedroom wankers and the limit gets hit and most don't continue. Have fun!

    Certainly you could spend more than an hour on one scale. by: Playing all notes on every string and every fret available. Making certain you *know* what the note is (ie my signature block) Playing the modes of that scale the same as above. Additional scales, Melodic minor, harmonic minor, symetrical I would also suggest doing arpeggios for all chord times, not just maj/min, as well as extended chords 7s, 9s, dom's and altered dom..etc Also how's your theory knowledge? That requires study time as well.

    My first suggestion would be 10 mins of anything isn't going to be very valuable. Especially if you've got five years in, I would up the time considerably. Certainly you can practice things you already know, but it is more productive to practice things you don't know and touch on things you do. Focus your practice more. Maybe 1 hour (or more) per item on your list and do it over days.

    Well I was going to say something to the effect of just drop the guitar on the ground breaking a string on a floating trem system ugly..but guess that will do.

    Since someone woke this up from the dead, nice Erik! It's actually a min(Maj7) and is also the 1 chord of a melodic minor scale. Right on!
