  1. ahh, i know. I hate that I have to do it. Part of me is kind of glad no one is buying it (i also tried selling on talkbass.com), but all the other parts of me are going to be SOL when I dont have any rent money :-/ If I end up selling this one, ill probably buy another one later down the road when i have a sold job. So no worries, ill stay true to the brotherhood.
  2. From stewmac, never been used. Comes with connecting wires, and roll of thin copper insulating tape. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electronics,_p...-Pull_Pots.html 8 bucks for all of that stuff. plus ship ^ and 10 gold pearl dots 3/32'' for the side of fretboard. - free if i ship anything else, or 2 bucks seperate. Standard 4 string Ibanez bass bridge (chrome) that i pulled off of one of my basses. Adjustable roller saddles. not a thing wrong with it. ill get pics and specs if anyones intrested. 25 bucks. with screws I also have 4 tuners that I pulled off of the same bass, also chrome. They look exactly like the Gotoh compacts, but they dont have a name brand on them. Im geussing they are ibanez factory made or somthing. 25 bucks. with screws and if anyones intrested, a pair of size 14 hightop airforce ones, lightly used. 60 bucks thanks guys.
  3. Before i describe it ill lay down my price range. Im lookin to get about 450 for this motha. But if you're really taken with the bass, and if you can point out some reasons why I ought to drop the price a bit then id be happy to work with you. I dont know if im allowed to put manufactures websites up, but ill give it a try. This is a link to the exact same model on the Ibanez website, it gives specs and **** if you dont believe the stuff ive typed below. http://www.ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=SR506 ps, the finish on the one I have is alot lighter, and you can see more grain. so dont let that pic throw you off. but uh, im sellin this six string bass so I can raise some funds and support my drug/gambling/hooker addictions. Its a great bass, its about the same kind that the bassist from Korn uses (but this one has 6 strings, his only has 5). Its b-e-a-d-g-c. Its got 2 Bartolini (top of the line pickups) Soap Bar pickups, and an AMAZING preamp (active, of course). Knobs are- 1 midstop pickup blender/selecter, 1 master volume, 1 mid control, 1 tone control, 1 bass control. Its amazing the variety of sounds you get out of this puppy. The input jack is a front indented style, much like on a stratocaster, but theres no metal jack plate. Its body is solid mahagony with a bolt on neck made of a 5 strips of quarter sawn wenge-bubinga-wenge-bubinga-wenge lamanated together. Looks GREAT! and the fretboard is standard Rosewood. The headstock veneer is a curly figured walnut from the looks of it. The body is finished in some specialized Oil finish, so it really brings out the natural beauty of the woods and theres no Lauquer on it to mess up the tone. You can feel the grains on this bass more than about any ive played. Deffinatly the sweetest bass ive ever owned. This 6 string actually weighs less than my 4 string ibanez, so there arnt any problems with standing up with it for long periods. Its in fairly good condition. The only problems are cosmetic- because its an oil finish, it picks up scratches alot easier. But theres nothin you can really do to avoid that. Its got very light beltbuckle rash on the back, a small scratch on the lower horn, and some scratchs up under the C string where my finger nails caught whilst i was slapping the **** out of it. and I have PLENTY of pictures of each and every scratch, and Ill email um or whatever. Now, I dont get on this site often anymore, so i dotn know how regularly i will check my PM inbox on this. But I check my email daily. Dylanhouse420@hotmail.com and my AIM is Rastah Stojah. So just contact me on one of them sources and we can get pictures sent and nice words exchanged. and it comes in one of them spiffy Super padded industrial gig bags, i pics of that too. xoxo, dylan house. Dylanhouse420@hotmail.com P.S. One super benefit (due to the oil finish) is that when you wake up at 3 am in your boxers and feel like playing bass, you can just sit down with this bass and start playing. With all the other basses ive owned the laquer finish gets cold at night, and when you try to play its all cold up against your body, and you gotta put a shirt on or somthin. and thats no fun. So keep that in mind.
  4. Printless, I will ship it for free. I dont know the exchange rate, and I dont know where to get it exchanged, so I can only accept US dollars.
  5. EMG selects. Come with schematics, screws, and foampad. 30 bucks shipped. find um anywhere cheaper than that, and ill beat thier price.
  6. I use mine all the time. I have a Bartolini 3 band EQ. Its so nice I would feel bad if I didnt use it. In a live situtaion I fiddle with it a little bit. For instance, (in jazz band concerts) when we play christmass songs, I kick the trebs up and mids down, bass on about 3/4. For somthing like Hatian fight song, I kick the trebs all the way down, mids half, and bass on full. sorry I couldnt come up with better examples. I find them all very usefull.
  7. Thank you very much devon. The link dosnt work, but still.. thanks. Problem solved. I built a jig using a regular drum sander, works great. And no need for the bit.
  8. You are pritty crazy, thats pritty radical sounding. :-p just kidding of course. That does sound great. It will be very black! the only thing to it is to do it.
  9. Im in the market for a used robo sander, or a flush trim routing bit. The bit will have to be 1/4 in. shank, 2" cutting length. thanks guys
  10. now your just arguing over semantics if its a well built guitar, a small frikkin glue line wont make a bit of difference (to the human ear). so give it up
  11. aaagh! god I want to go! New york is one hell of a drive though..
  12. paint is for people who use ugly wood. I think if its good looking wood, do it natural all the way, or get a veneer.
  13. Just go down to your local music shop, and if they have one take some measurments off of it, and get some good full frontal shots of it that you can use to make a drawing of it.
  14. 18 BF!! on a neck?? that wood must have dissapeared like rims at a puff diddy concert
  15. Hey, I did mine with a table router. first I had a good strong fence set up on the table (on the far side) and marked out where I wanted the channel to go, and got all the meausrements and so on and so fourth (basic stuff) making sure the bit was directly on the centerline with the board and all. Then I marked out on the fence, and on the board where to begin and stop. And I would line the board up. (take into account that the bit is round). Then I took the board, and got a forstner drill bit that was the exact same size as the router bit, and I taped off the bit to the depth I wanted, then using my drill press I made the begining hole. (if I was using a plunge router on top of the board this would not be nesscary) Then turn the router on, and hold the peice square over the bit, and get the bit right in the hole you made with your drill, and make 1/8th inch passes untill you get the depth you want. later I squared the channel out with a chissle, because I wanted to get a square channel (the nut is at the bridge side of the neck) so I wanted to make it pritty. Good luck. Becareful with that router!
  16. hello, and welcome. best bet, put it on a floppy and take it to kinkos, for a small fee they will give you the proper size. make sure you put it in MS paint, or some program they are likely to have. You can even call and ask them what you should put it on. good luck.
  17. Im 6' 160 pounds, and I wear a large. I would problely buy a shirt. PS I wear a 34 x 32. Thoes are easy to find around here (new that is) But I would rather get them used at goodwill, or a thrift store. I hate the feel of new jeans. how about some PG hats? i would buy a misprint, if there was a small discount...
  18. How much for a busted hard drive? Really all I would like out of them are the strong ass magnents ive heard were in them.
  19. Remember, If you have to move the neck forward, or backward any, You will also have to move the bridge. And also, think about how often you actually play the upper frets. For me, its not an issue, because I never use them and If i needed that reach for a certin song, I would just tune an octive higher. And also, If you ever plan on playing slap bass that neck Pup may get in the way. Thats the only reason why I havnt bought a rickenbacher, because when I play slap it gets in the way, and Its RIGHT where I pop the G string. Are thoes the pickup placements your acutally going to use? or just for the sake of being there in a rough plan? And I second the control moving. BUT! I love the design! very retro looking. what kind of bridge are you using?
  20. Hey, I did the same thing as well. Only, I used some luuan for my template, and used pine as the wood of choice. I also made it a 2 peice, so I always had an established center line I could work off of. I made about 4 of thoes, along with necks ( only shaped 1 of them... you can imagin why) But its great practice, and you learn your own tips and tricks as you go along, much better practice than reading how to do somthing. Some more advice, Always practice a cut before you make it, and think everything out, Before I cut the angle for my scarf joint (on my real, 45 dollar peice of neck wood) I practiced it about 6 times on pine scraps (cause I was using a homemade jig on my table saw)
  21. or do the same thing with a couple of scrap steel plates. I know ive got a few of them laying around. most junk yards do as well. it seems a bit eayser than milling an aluminium block.
