  1. I like it. Seems like something i'd do on a bored day.
  2. Put me in the I love that finish category. That's gorgeous!
  3. That's absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see a finished product, and good idea on the screwy pickup covers.
  4. orange peel or not, it's still pretty. just maybe level sand and clear again and you might be ok.
  5. My cousin and I built a whamola from aluminum square tube. sounds awesome.
  6. wow. that is slick. im planning on starting my first build this spring/summer. i've been planning on it for a year or two now though haha. im a procrastinator like the rest of my family, but im actually going to this time.
  7. hate to post on an old thread, but in regards to the blind comment, my cousins mom had a blind friend a long time ago. he made custom gunstocks for a living..... they were beautiful too. i dont know how he pulled it off but it was amazing. i think his last name was shank if anyone's ever heard of him.
  8. that back countor and neck pocket carve is gorgeous! thats gonna be one comfortable guitar.
  9. does anyone know ay sites with good information on how tube amps work?
  10. its a 100-watt with a bright and normal channel. each channel has two inputs and volume bass and treble controls. the cab is a 2x12 with two chrome ports halfway down. im not sure what the speakers are, as i dont want to take it apart and risk screwing over the tuck and roll. im looking at possibly selling it, but im not sure yet. anyone know what it is or how much i can get out of it?
  11. most likely swamp ash...... havent decided really though. whatever's cheap at reeder's........
  12. 1.......... definitely 1.............. but whatever you want is whatever you want
  13. alrighty i've never scratch built a guitar before obviously, but i have built from parts..... which actually turned out rather well. I have a rough template laid out for a jackson King-V style guitar, and i plan to start buying supplies when income tax returns come in. It will be 25.5 inch scale, 24 frets, reversed headstock if i decide to build my neck, white front w/black tiger stripes, black sides, white back w/ black cavity covers, a kahler traditional trem w/behind-the-nut lock, jumbo frets on an ebony board w/no front inlays. it will have side dots and be on a bare maple bolt-on neck. I plan to use 2 EMG select pickups for now but i will eventually upgrade to an EMG 81 set. Truss rod will be adjusted at the nut. I am stuck between alder and ash as body woods. can anyone point out the sound and weight differences to me by chance? Thanks for anyone's help on that question and all opinions and suggestions are welcome.
  14. yeah it should shouldnt it? hmmm........ gives me ideas.
