  1. Ooops sorry Chris! I didn't mean it in a bad way - I like the Washburns & your designs. It was just the stubby horns that did it!
  2. Cheers Carl, it's been hard work! My normal build rate is about 1 every 2 years, so this time I thought & I'd batch build stuff ie when I'm set up to route 1 tele body, why not do 2?, when I'm set up to route 1 truss rod channel, why not do 4? It worked until I got to the finishing stage. As I have to spray outside I was at the mercy of the Northern British weather & ran out of time to get the 4 or 5 sprayed that I wanted (the white tele still needs lacquer). As soon as the weather improves I have that & another rear routed strat to spray. In the mean time I have my 1st commission build but I have a bit of time to get that finished - can't say too much the internet's walls have ears! It's nobody famous tho' . If you're curious just msg me.
  3. Thanks Scott! They'll appreciate the feedback. They had some feedback on twitter from BFS & Lacey (support band on the tour) & both bands said they loved it too. Believe it or not this is a normal Friday/Saturday night in our house. The oldest is learning to play & is keen to start building guitars too (watch this space - it would be good to build one together). He has his eye on the green strat but unfortunately this batch (walnut strat, surf green tele, white tele & green strat) are all for sale so I told him to get his wallet out lol Yes, the youngest is definitely a character - you don't know the half of it, you want to see him when he gets his mic stand out & goes full Steve Tyler/Jon Bon Jovi with it - complete with scarves tied too it!
  4. Hello again, folks! I know it's been a while since I've posted but I have been lurking quite often. And believe it or not I've still been building. (Full build posts coming soon I promise) The green one is done other than a rear cover plate. Anyway I digress - my 2 sons have entered a competition to win a band meet with Bowling For Soup & autographed guitar. The entry consists of a video of themselves singing a Bowling For Soup song, in their case, Surf Colorado & the video with the most views wins. If any of you could bring yourselves to watch it once or twice (or more if you feel the need ) then I would greatly appreciate it. You will find the video here - https://youtu.be/ZT0cLFYq-Pc Once again I thank you all in advance & apologize for any trauma experienced.
  5. What's happening? Where's the BOWWAHDII?
  6. "what sith the hardness of the timbers I'm using." Oh no! - you've done it now! You're on your way to the Dark Side!
  7. +1 I always like what you do - I'll be watching.
  8. I can beat ya with the church - I have one about 5 miles away from me that's a tad older - it dates from 670AD & has been in almost constant use since (all but about 10 years in the 19th century). It's obviously not as grand as Barcelona. My parents lived in the cottage at the right of the picture for about 2 years when they were 1st married. Any way hurry up & finish this thing - I love destroyers! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escomb_Church
  9. wonders what we're getting this time....
  10. I have no words to say but I have some letters for you... O-M-G. G-O-T-M
  11. I'm sure that you're all fairly familiar with the works of Dr Glen Morangie too? I have had the pleasure of working alongside him on a number of occasions and his work is outstanding. I'll also have to introduce you all to Herr Schnapps one of these days - in fact I have him staying with me this evening. I may even be able to persuade him to pop on here and say a few words this evening - but be warned - he can sometimes be a little "high-brow" & difficult to understand (it's the accent, you know). Tonight = Tomorrow = Any way I digress - great work so far - I'm looking forward to seeing these finished.....
  12. Luis - it will be a sad day for all if you quit - you are one of a handful of builders I take inspiration from. Why don't you use oil or wax finishes? I think your guitars would look just as good with them. Or sub-contract them.
