  1. A friend of mines Ovation accoustic electric has a tuner in the EQ bit on the guitar too. I thought it was pretty common, but maybe not
  2. If I am correct then this 'Satch Whistle' you are refering too is just an open string pinch harmonic bent upwards with the Whammy Bar. He does it in Satch Boogie just to name one song
  3. ahhh I see! Cheers sir you are in fact a star!
  4. How can you tell the difference between the tip and the sleeve lugs? There is now no wire on the jack (except for some stuck in solder) and the gray sleeved wire that came from it has a white sleaved wire coming out of it and threads of wire which aren't sleaved. Which do I solder to which?
  5. Edit! So It seems it was the jack. Now, there's only one loose wire but two blobs of sloder on two prongs on the jack. Is the same wire slodered in two places? or is a wire missing or something?
  6. So you made a template and sprayed the black? Seems like an obvious idea that had never even crossed my mind. Thanks muchly.
  7. Hmm....cheers for the ideas guys. I may well look for the sticky backed paper. It would take quite a lot of coats of clear to make it look like paint wouldn't it? I wouldn't be using Poly due to my tiny budget and having no finishing tools what so ever, so I'd probably be using Plastikote paints.
  8. I've decided after much observing of thses forums that I will take the plunge and buy a Saga kit. I really want to own a guitar with a tiger stripe finish and was wondering if masking the background finish then painting the stripes would work, with tiger stripes being quite an intricate shape. I'd probably leave it until I got used to finishing a guitar but I was hoping to get something along the lines of this. Cheers.
  9. I have a strong inkling that many people may want the kit in January? (Yes I do too )
  10. Also (when you get back of course Brian) when will the Bass kits be available?
  11. What would you clear over plastikote paints with though? Aren't they enamel based?
  12. Les Claypool, Rob Trujillo, Flea, Muzz Skillings and last but not least Frankie Bello.
