  1. A friend of mine wants to change his setup and is not sure how to wire it. Here's what he has: A.R.T. Nite Bass Ampeg PreAmp (not sure of model) EQ (32 band graphic) Crest Power Amp (not sure of model) The A.R.T. is an effects unit/preamp. He only wants to use it for effects. How should he wire it? Here's my opinion, but I've never used rack gear for guitars or bass. Bass--->Ampeg--->A.R.T.--->EQ--->Power Amp--->Cabinets My question is what sort of output should be used from the Ampeg to the A.R.T.? Help, Please?
  2. "Please! Please! This is supposed to be a happy occasion! Let's not bicker and argue about who is better than who. We are here today to witness the union of three guitarists in the joyful bond of the holy rock. Unfortunately, one of them, Yngwie Malmsteen, is just not as good as the rest." Taken very loosely from Monty Python and The Holy Grail, scene 17 - The Dead Prince.
  3. Welcome......... Now that you're here you'll never leave!
  4. I liked Yngwie back in the day...not so much anymore. I will however be going to G3 no matter who is playing simply because Joe is the best damn guitarist in the world. His tone is beautiful in every song, he plays with feeling as well as insane skill. He goes out and has a great time rockin...that's what it's all about.
  5. Here you go: I don't know how much it's worth though, sorry.
  6. I was disappointed too, and still am. Oh well. It's still a great guitar, and sounds beautiful. I stuck some stuff down in the case under the headstock to prevent movement. I don't understand why there's such a big gaping hole there...
  7. I have an old Gibson, 125T. It screams whenever you give the amp a little gain. Maybe I should yank the soapbar off of it and dip it....
  8. So, I want to change the name of this Topic from Yay! to Boo! I got my Taylor back today...They fixed the crack, but you can still see it. That pisses me off. Also, when they shipped it they didn't pack it like I was told to pack it to send to them. In fact there was NO PACKING WHATSOEVER. There was just a panel at the top of the case and the bottom of the case inside the box. WHAT THE HELL KIND OF PACKING JOB IS THAT FOR A $1500 GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To top it all off, they didn't remove the battery from the electronics. So, when I removed the guitar from the case the battery was BOUNCING AROUND INSIDE MY GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!! If you haven't noticed I am slightly pissed off by these things. But what do I do about it?
  9. Get nice strings, and make sure the action is set up nicely. I don't know what else you could do.
  10. I know, that sucks. I don't have much time to do it either. I've got one or two acoustic shows every week in August, a wedding at the end of August, and full band shows in September. Practice, practice, practice! The Whiplash thing sounded fishy to me too. Especially when they said "Since they're small cracks we won't charge you for the repairs, just shipping." Hmmmm.....maybe because IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME! And maybe because YOU NEED TO DESIGN YOUR CASES BETTER!
  11. I did Tae Kwon Do and Hop Ki Do for a while. Self defense stuff, I was 13 or 14 when I started. I got up to blue belt in both then couldn't afford it anymore.
  12. I'm getting my Taylor back finally! They called me yesterday and told me it was fixed and I should get it from UPS next week. I bought it January 1, played it maybe 10 times and then noticed a crack in the neck up by the headstock. They said it was from being in the case standing up and the case fell over, giving the head "whiplash". Funny, because I would never stand my case upright, and I treated it like a baby. Anyway....I can't wait to get it back! It's going to make life a lot easier to have a nice acoustic for shows.
