what is the bet gauge and brand wire to use for guitar electronics?

new to this forum. what's up? just built my first guitar. its a jackson soloist. basically stock. i had a rhoads V and i always hated the body style so i figured "hey let me get a body off eBay and just swap everything." yea right! Well the only thing left from the V are the pickups. I have some questions but i'll post them in an different thread. Thanx!
