  1. Hey guys, My car dealership screwed me pretty bad and I am way overdrawn on my checking account. As a result I am selling my guitars cheap. '99 Les Paul DC Standard Lite - Diamond blue finish with EMG ZW set. Gold hardware and 24 fret neck. The switch has been acting up and probably needs to be replaced. I just never got around to it. '93 USA Strat - Metallic Green finish with original electronics. Does not have the tremelo arm and is missing the bottom strap button. ESP KH-2 - All black with dual EMG 81s and skull/crossbones inlays. Has various dings and marks but plays amazing. The Gibson and the ESP both have the original cases but the Fender has a TKL hard case. I am selling these cheap because I really need the money. Please let me know if you are interested. I prefer payment through paypal and would rather ship in US. I would like to get $500 for the Gibson, $650 for the ESP and $350 for the Strat. I will ship through UPS insured for $30 for each guitar. I am located in Phoenix, Arizona. Thanks. I will try to post pics tonight.
  2. Darren pretty much said exactly what I was about to. Just go and try it out. Is there a certain style you play because that plays a factor too. Just check the local Guitar Center and the smaller shops and play everything. Bring your guitar and try them out if you can because then you know exactly what it will sound like when you get it home. Also, it's been said a few times already but just be patient and accept the answers you receive. If there is something you don't want to hear then don't pose the question.
  3. good luck...that is a phase that most people go through at some point. i used to say things like "joe satriani sucks!" when i was a teenager...and it was all based on ignorance, just like the people you are talking about. but some low end models of every guitar manufacturer i can think of do suffer from poor truss rod routs, poor wiring, poor hardware...things like that, but chances are the people you are talking about aren't qualified to know that. anyway i still am almost sure the ltd and schecter guitars are made in the same factory. someone correct me if i am wrong I am pretty sure that ESP and Schecter are owned by the same company but operated individually.
  4. My Gibson Les Paul DC came with the 492R and '57T set in it and I really liked them. They had a real nice classic rock, AC/DC and Aerosmith type sound to them. I changed them out for EMGs to get a harder sound but they were great pickups.
  5. This is info straight from the listing... He also goes into detail about this specific guitar... He has 100% positive feedback and is a good member of this site. Just read before you make an un-necessary comment.
  6. Just wanted to see if any of you would be interested in this. I bought it as a collectors piece but I really need to get bill collectors off of my piece, if you know what I mean. It is in excellent condition and comes with the original hard case and tremelo arm. I am just trying to get back what I paid which is $1000 plus shipping. Just let me know if you are interested through a PM. Thanks...
  7. good point... I just know for me that all of mine got my attention by their looks but it was how they felt and played that made me wnat them. Kind of like women in a lot of ways.
  8. There are a rediculous amount of good guitars for under $1,000 especially used ones. It all depends on the style of music he plays, what body style he likes, and so on. Have him go to a store and just play some that catch his eye. First you have to like the way it looks but then you have to like the way it plays and sounds. You could play 2 guitars that are the same brand and model and one can be awesome and the other could suck.
  9. I have a Line 6 Spider 2 1x12 that I like a lot. It does have a headphone jack which is nice when you live in a townhouse and don't get home from work 'til midnight. They have 75 watts, 12 different amp "models" (11 if you don't count the one very useless one) and some decent effects. This won't win the best amp in the world award, but it kicks ass for $300.
  10. It will help if you list your location.
  11. Guitars - ESP KH-2 '99 Gibson LP DC '93 PRS CE-24 '93 USA Strat Amp - Line 6 Spider 2 1x12 I still want to build my Explorer but not sure when that will happen.
  12. If the strat is your favorite guitar you should leave it as is and just buy a used Ibanez RG or ESP LTD. Of course, that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.
  13. Nothin' like getting 3 answers in a minute
  14. I think you're referring to the 5 way rotary switch. It basically gives the versatillity of a 5 way switch but also keeps the look consistent with the tone and volume knobs... Here is a link to their site that lists the 5 positions... PRS switch
  15. Cool... Another Foo Fan Can't wait to see the finished guitar man. Gotta love Explorers.
  16. Hey guys, Just wondering what some of you have in your Strats and how you like them. I just got a '93 USA Strat at GC yesterday (for a cool $350) and was thinking of changing the pickups. I was doing research and I am not sure if I want to do the Lace Sensors, Rio Grandes, Texas Specials or one of the EMG guards. If any of you have these in your Strat let me know what you think of them. I just want a versatile high output Strat sound. Thanks for any info...
  17. I know... I'm very torn. I'm in the process of getting a '93 PRS CE-24 and I already have a '99 Gibson LP DC that I put the EMG ZW set into plus the KH-2. Just too many good guitars and not enough talent.
  18. Even the newer "Melody Maker" 1 pickup Les Paul runs for around $400. So yeah, seems like a good deal.
  19. Well, I decided to sell my ESP. I put it up on ebay so if anyones interested check it out. Thanks... Jim ESP KH-2
  20. I really need to sell this and am willing to drop the price to $800 (obo) including the original pickups and pots. I will also include 2 sets of D'Addario 9's and a locking strap. I really don't want to sell it but have no choice. E-mail me with any questions... Thanks Jim
