yeh we can call em "low ridas" heck if you want the "lpd" factor just get one of those korg tuners and a couple of other racks with alot of lights. i was gonna make some clear humbucker rims for my les pual that i did and then i was gonna inlay leds inside them, but then i thought "nah that will be stupid" so i didnt do it. maybe someday when im bored i will give it a try. but its so 80's , then again the 80's are comming back so we better get out the spandex! and start shredding!! boy im glad i was to young to partake in the 80's if there was one group of years that we humans could erase i think it should be the 80's. boy did they suck!!! my mom had the biggest perm!! it was discusting!!!!!!!!!!!

the word "tone" is a very touchy subject! i personaly think its a matter of opinion. each person usually has a different tone to there own rig and its set to what he or she likes (look i used"he or she" guitar playing is unisexual!) personally i love the tone of my rig, it was better when my dual shoman worked but right now i wil settle with the carvin head for my clean channel. but i hear some peoples rigs and i hate the sound, but they love it so to each his own. example- rush i hate his studio sounds and tone but if you listen to some live recordings, his sound is awsome! but since we digresed off of the subject of big or small nuts i will bring us back. if a guitar nut is 1 7/16 x 3/16 x 1/4 i would say that the 1 7/16 is the width because we say "the width of the neck " and i would say the nut is 3/16 long because you look down the lenght of the neck. and then the 1/4 would be the hight off of the headstock. in theory the longer the nut 3/16- 5/16(wich is what i make mine) would definetly change the tone like brian sayed. i use 5/16, yes its long but if the strings are contacting more of the nut wich contacts more of the neck, in theory it would resonate more throughout the guitar therfore giving a better tone! thats why i think neck through guitars have a better tone than bolt ons or mortised necks. the srings are contacting more of the same mass of wood. i use corion for my nuts its about the same density as bone and the strings slide very nicely through it. i also use graphiteif im using a trem. but i hate trems so i dont usually do them. except i like old bigsbys i put one on a 77 mustang it looks pretty cool! rye

hey it looks great! but i found one major flaw! you were supposed to make two guitars, the back should be on the front of another one, its awsome!!! hey can you make me one?i have a good gig next month and i would love to have another guitar to play.

ive fixed a couple of busted headstocks before, just take your time and dont rush anything! see if its possible to get the piece out from under the fret board without removing it first, if you cant then maybe try to remove the fret board. from the pics it looks like it broke on the scarf joint? how did you do that?

hey thanks , on the clean channel i used a 69 fender dual showman thru a butler 4x12 celestion loaded and on the dirty i use a mesa boogie dc-5 and it kicks! for the clean on propaganda i ran thru a smallstone phaser then a digitech delay then an old meastro phase shifter to get the reel wirly sounds. for guitars i used my Prs mcarty soapbar formost and i used my 61 SG also there are alot of tracks so i was able to track both instruments and mix them up a little. were gonna be recording our new stuff soon, that stuff is all our old material. we now have enough new songs for an album. our new suff is more like TOOL meets Audio slave meets system of a down.

i know some of the demensions i am building my own design based off a prs, but i am making some improvements like a offset body so you dont rub your arm raw on the top of the guitar if you play hard. then scale is 25" for 22 fret the fret board is 18 5/16" long thickness at the thickest piont is 2 1/8" at the bridge edges are 1 7/16" body width is 12 7/8" let me know what else you need and maybe i can get it for you. but its alot easier with one in front of you if you have any freinds that have one just take it and trace the body out on to a peice of paper and then take all your measurements. good luck!

hey just go and put a little money down on the guitar to hold it, then in a couple of months go and finish paying it. then when you bring it home she will flip out, but keep your cool! just reply by saying " well i thought that if you got your ring ,i could get my guitar?" and when she looks at you with puzzlment in her eyes just say " dont you remember?" and then when she says no you can say " figures you only care about what you want, of course you wouldnt remember what i wanted." heck it could work! i bought my wife a ring for christmas and she loves it!, the next fall i was on e-bay and saw a prs tourquise soapbar mcarty , jokingly i sayed to her "hey its the one i want can i bid on it?" and she sayed yes! of course at the time she was saying it sarcasticly but i didnt know! and now i have a beutiful PRS and she doesnt hold it over me! in the same week my 68 dual showman blew up again! so she let me get a mesa dc-5 it was great and i still got a lot of sex!! of course i am poor now!

hey i did this same thing on an old 61 SG that was hacked up, what i did though, since i had the original ebony tailpiece that was on the temolo. I ran the strings through and used a bone bridge for an acoustic to have the strings ride over before they hit the bridge, then i attached the ebony piece over top of it so to hide the bone piece and the holes. it looks really cool and its a one of a kind guitar! the tone is awsome! and i'd put my SG up against any other out there! if you want a picture i could get one for you but it will take me a week to get it to computer,just let me know,id be glad to. rye

yeh i made one about a year ago. i used a maple vennered ply with maple edges about 2' x 3' and built a frame out of heavy yellow pine that i got from an old barn. i attached the router to a piece of corian that is 1/4 thick that was square and i recessed it into the top of the table so that it was flush. then i made a fence out of red oak and attached it with two carraige bolts that i can adjust by losening the wing nuts on the back of the fence. its kinnda like a router table meets shaper table but it works great and looks great! and its very very strong! ps i will post a pic if you want me to

great! i already glued it with the hyde glue! should i take it apart? and just use regular or should i keep going with the project?
