  1. yeah! though it has to be totally playable..build a crazy one that you can actually play. think of Ron Thal's hand guitar or something like that..wacky! but still playable.
  2. and to practice your 'chops' with.
  3. yes aeli, i guess the black hardware also fits with the light color of the maple.anyways,i have many options (its just photoshop anyways).thanks for the comments.
  4. Aww rightt!..looks decidedly deadly!and i like the way the bottom part has these contours(in case you play sitting down).these would help stabilize your position.just be careful about the tuner holes..plot them good because there isnt much room for the six of them!
  5. yeah, i thought about the matching body color and headstock. And what i meant by chambered is that i want to lessen the weight of the bottom layer(w/c is mahogany)i dont know what you call them..hollowed?the top would probably be thicker than most tops to get that sort of carved and contoured form.or i may decide to keep the mahogany solid if its not that thick. Digideus, The headstock just evolved from the MM evh.but i like it a lot..looks killer! the body thickness would be 4 cm overall or 1.6".i have 2 EMG 89s(wired to the max number of combos). Its on my other guitar. So i might buy a pair of SD's.the electronics i can mix and match.but the wood... thats tough.anyway, there will be changes im sure for the final final design.the inlays look kind of boring i guess. tnx for the comments!
  6. Thanks for the comments.I'll consider some..ehehe.i think the headstock fits.since its a natural color/finish, it blends well with the dark color produced by the board.you know, dark brd, light inlays, dark brd light headstock,etc..
  7. im still undecided about what fretboard i will put. the figured maple or the ebony.anyways, its just a representation of what my ideal guitar is going to look like.cant have the exact 'figured' finish on the maple, anyway.how much do you guys think the wood will cost and the hardware (minus pickups)there in the U.S.? body is chambered mahogany..top is figured maple.maple neck/ebony board.locking tuners etc.. i appreciate all your replies..thanks again
  8. here it is..i have lots actually.just changed the body color,etc....but this one's my favorite.so far..
  9. jammy and erikbojerik, Thanks! i have another one.A lot cleaner and better looking than this one.You are right about the pickups.they're big. This is an older design. i didnt use a real guitar(pic) as a guide that's why the pickup size looks bigger.
  10. tell me what you think guys..my first attempt at designing an electric.totally on photoshop.inspired by musicman EVH.(i think)
  11. interesting shape..i have a similar project that i intend to start in a few months.Maybe i can post my photoshop design here.
