So is it Wall Of Death then.... what does WOD stand for?
WOD = Wall Of Death, exactly. Here Drak says it, too
-
So, never settle for half-baked, don't accept 70 or 80% as 'good enough', keep chugging until you hit The Magic, it's worth it.
Well I sure can't wait to see your progress on Ophelia and the new Baby V's.
-
The Return of the W.O.D.!!
Drak, uncompromising as always.
-
Do you reckon that would be of use to anyone?
Sure it would. Don't even question that...
-
Honestly, a regular guitar should probably be a 'baritone', in the continuum between Tenor guitars and Bass guitars; sits between 'em.
Makes sense...
-
just dont go past the fretboard when acalloping: the scallops don't need to be very deep to be functional anyhow
Jeez, even remotely going near the end of the fretboard when scalloping is really too much.
Unless obviously you want to end like the scallopwned guy on guitar.com
Check out Brians scalloping tutorials on the ProjectGuitar homepage

Know what im saying?
You are saying that you found the holy grail of tone and won't tell us?!?
-
For the record, a baritone instrument is one that sounds one octave lower than the regular one.
In the case of guitars the reason for the extended scale is to be able to use heavier gauge and increase the string tension. On my 25" scale 7 string the tension of the B string is about right using 60's, anything lighter and it is too low. On an extended scale ( like 27"), a 52-54 string can be tuned down to A and still maintain a decent tension.
I don't really understand the link between first and second part of your post... Baritone guitars are tuned to A most of the times or am I mistaken? That's not an octave lower... Or is "baritone" a term which was used incorrectly (like "tremolo") when it came to electric guitar?

can anyone tell if the binding it plastic or maple? imho maple is way better for binding, it looks better and when using it on the neck you dont have to cut the tangs off
Yes you do, unless you're deliberately botching the job. Slots which extend through the binding look a mess, and utterly defeat the cosmetic and practical purpose of binding! Clip the tang, or leave it unbound - there is no inbetween
+1

bear fingers
Those things are so much more believable when they're not written by morons.
Well, I know some guitarists with bear-claw sort of hands

Well the guitar above sold at the London Guitar Show yesterday Its gone to a guy called Dann from a new band called Vanton (myspace.com/vanton), he phoned me up yesterday evening to say how happy he was with it.
the guitar shop that were selling it for me have requested a few more to take to the next guitar show in november. Apparently it was getting a hell of a lot of interest all day. They guy that brought it told me he walked past it 3 times and it always had a crowd around it, he finally had to buy it when he saw somebody taking a photo with his mobile and texting it to his mate.
I still aint a proffessional luthier but this is a bloody big step in the right direction. Still not into the huge profit area but i feel confident i can slowly start to raise prices till i am
Man, that's just GREAT. I can't even imagine how good it must feel for you *envious*

Thank you Alex... After cross-referencing it with other sources I agree it has to be a RG 470FM in Transparent Purple... Funny, I thought it was more recent. Thank you SO MUCH.

a serial number may prove usefull, jemsite may be able to help
No, because Jemsite does not cover the Korean-made Ibanez guitars... Which this one definitely is...
-
As far as I know, it is a Korean-made RG, AANJ, with Infinity pickups, golden hardware, lo-trs (or lo-trs ii - cannot quite make out) and HSH pickup configuration... Flamed maple top and white binding around the body...
I hope someone of you Ibanez cracks out there can help me. I really love the body finish.
Edit: The trem's a Lo-trs, not a Lo-Trs II...
-
You don't need a fret bender either. Using your hands (gloves help, by the way), carefully bend your fret wire so that it has a tighter radius than your fret board. Then, cut your frets slightly long.
Really? Just with the hands?

The old Ibanez Noodles Signature model had a duct tape finish too (the NDM1). Not surprisingly it is not in their catalog anymore
Ahem, perhaps so, but they are still producing it, along with a new Noodles sig (NDM2), which funilly enough is not covered with duck tape!

Yeah, that's what I meant... But I didn't know they are still producing it this year...

Pagelli has made a guitar with an Alesis AirFX built into it... Now that's way more cool
Edit: I remember now it was called the "Avantair" guitar. Here are some specs:
«AVANTAIR»-Guitar
The guitar, called «Avantair», includes an Alesis «Airfx».
By just moving your hand while playing towards the sensor, you can easily change all the parameters of the built-in effects!
The effects are:
Whammy, Tremolo, Chorus, Phraser, Flanger, Wah-Wah, Touch Wah, Seeker, Ringmodulation, Tonegenerator and spec. Effects. Holdpossibility of the changed effect.
No knowledge of programming is necessary.
Just plug in and play neverheard sounds!
Of course you can use the «Avantair» as a normal guitar. (Bypass-Switch)

Heeeyy!! What's with trashing the MIM's all of the sudden? They can be great guitars...
After all, the guitar in my avatar is a great piece after having changed the tuners, pickups, pots, and wiring. It'll be even better after changing the bridge and a full Plek refret!
LOL!

Happy Birthday Brian, and thanks for keeping this goin'
-
Voted for Jehle. I like the idea behind it and the attitude...
I was astonished by Doug's, but after a few minutes of drooling I thought that it was just a bit "too much"... And the Zipper Cherry did not really "speak" to me either... BigD's tele is nice... for a tele. But I dislike Teles anyway so it was no option for me....
-
I already wished you a happy birthday via PM but anyhow... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
