  1. Great craftsmanship as always Luis, very nice work. I know it's been forever ago but thanks for the tips on top carving. You really helped out a lot. Just need to choose a color now and sand and sand and. I thought I had a thread on this one, need to finish her up. Bill
  2. Personally, I really like the volute style, creative. I dig. Bill
  3. Your bud will be most pleased whichever he picks. Fine work. Bill
  4. I always love you builds, the most creative by far. Bill
  5. Are you using a Jackson neck or did you make the one shown? It's hard to tell from the light reflection, just curious. Bill
  6. Weight restrictions has pretty much stopped all of my builds. I had spinal radiation treatment last summer and a recent MRI shows that the radiation has killed the bone marrow in 6 of my vertibrae's. I'm not allowed to lift more than 4 pounds and no twisting of my spine. That makes building pretty much impossible and it sucks.

  8. I always look forward to your builds. Keep up the good work. I know it'll be cool, like always. Bill
  9. Nice axe, Doug buids the some great necks. I've got two from him. You should enter this into the GOTM. Great build. Bill
  10. Nice build, love the back of the headstock design. Keep up the good work. Bill
  11. Your builds are always so original. I like this one but the Rusicator is still no. 1, the Bearcaster is no. 2 Bill
  12. What tools did you use for the carve? Nice work, really good looking guitar. Bill
  13. I"ve decided to part with my Matchless for some new sound. This probably won't sell, but I thought i'd try. Handmade/wired 1994 Matchless Superchief, 120 watts, extremely loud and rare. I think they only made 60 of these. I bought this is 96' from the original owner and it's been in my house ever since, never gigged. Hard to put a price tag on this because their almost impossible to find. Make an offer if interested, cash or trade or both. Bill
  14. One of the best months. If I were to vote seeing these for the first time, I would probably go with Metalhead28's Ginger, but watching these progress day by day I had to go with RAD's Diablo.
  15. Now that is a nice looking carve. Clean!! Bill
  16. John, I think you need to do a group shot of all the guitars you have built. What's the total anyway? BTW, nice!! Bill
  17. You remade the entire neck to stay true to the build. Man that's a tuff one, but I think I would have done that too. So you won't be needing that other neck ey? I'm visiting some family in southern Indiana tomorrow, so just leave that out on the porch and I'll get it in the morning. HA!! Bill
  18. Hello all, does anyone know how you repair a fretboard inlay that is cracked from installing the frets? I'm talking about an inlay that runs across one fret to another. See the pic below. The pic isn't the actual crack, it's not nearly that big, but i'm sure you get the idea. Let me know what the best idea to repair this is, i'm guessing superglue is involved in some way. Bill ]
  19. Like everyone has already said, what a tough group to pick from. I hate following the crowd, but, I think that Metalhead's Invader was spot on. Personally, I think if you had painted it black, added a couple more inlays it would have become a novelty guitar rather than an actual player. The theme isn't overpowering and taking your eyes away from the overall guitar. I think the "less is more" saying really applies here. To me, this guitar looks like it just rips. I would own this guitar. Bill
  20. I'm not a big Tele fan either, but that is beautiful. Great work. Bill
  21. I know it's the Ernie Ball EVH, but I always fancied the aqua blue quilt. I don't own this guitar, but I had one just like this in my hands at IRC music in Indianapolis for $1650 back in 95', but didn't by it. Oh hindsight..... Bill
  22. Never get tired of good guitar building Mark. WE'RE ALL OBSESSED WITH GUITARS!!! THAT'S WHY WE'RE HERE!! This build will be really cool. I was thinking of doing one of these as well, You mean you didn't want to drop $3K for the official EVH and spend only about $500 and build one just as good, why?? ha ha ha Bill
  23. I would suggest the Carvin guitar kit. More expensive, but you get what you pay for. Carvin guitar and bass kits Bill
