  1. Guitar Templates Yeah I know of those guys. Was hoping for one cheaper than $60...
  2. Avenger: Thick, "brown", and growly when ready is what I would describe off the top of my head. Yet also able to pull off some stratty tones ala Gilmour, SRV, and McCready. WezV: How did you "bleach" the wood?
  3. I am going to build a strat here in the next couple of months and I am trying to decide on a body wood. The guitar will be used in my cover band (REM --> Duran Duran --> INXS --> No Doubt --> Third Eye Blind --> Cake --> Led Zeppelin) Neck: -Maple shaft -Pau Ferro fretboard -25.5" Pickups: -P90's Bridge: -Top/flush mounted OFR Body: -Will have pickguard Ash, Alder, Maple? I want to finish it in a sunburst fashion like below, so that kinda throws mahogany out the window. I'm mainly looking for what tonal characteristics I should expect from P90's in each wood. Thanks

  6. Hey guys. I will be starting two new builds here soon. One will be an Explorer for the other guitarist in my band and one will be a PRS clone for myself. Catch is, they will both be 27" scale. Will the bodies need to be enlarged to accommodate the longer scale? I do not want them to be neck-heavy....especially worried about the Explorer.
  7. Mr. Natural and I are currently working on my first neck. I would like it to play like an Ibanez Jem neck......not as thin as a old Wizard, but not as thick as a Satch neck. Anyone have dimensions of this neck? If not, is it more of a "U" or a "D"? I know the thickness @ 1st Fret is 19mm and the thickness at the 12th Fret is 21mm.
  8. Just got this, but I can't mate with the 24-3/4-inch scale due to my orangutan hands. :/ This was also my first Dean, and it has the best fretboard I have ever played. Ever. So smooth. Frets leveled beautifully and has zero fretbuzz anywhere. Sadly I have come to terms that I was born to play superstrats. Dimebucker, USA Time Capsule All black hardware $430 shipped with harshell case.
  9. $450 SHIPPED. Black Chrome Hardware EMG 81/60 active pups. Dark Trans Red finish with pearl inlays and full pearl binding. A beautiful guitar. The finish looks so much better in person. Only ding it has is on the back. About the size of a pencil eraser. Also, the left screw post on the stoptail piece has a slight "knick" on it. Nothing much at all but just being as honest as possible. I will include an extra one if someone springs for it. The ding was filled in with clear nail polish. Its only half the size of what is circled, as the clear fingernail polish is reflecting the flash. It has been well set up and plays great. Only selling because I have banana sized fingers and I can't mate well with a gibson scale.
  10. Poop sucks someone got this. Somehow I missed it. I would have def picked it up :/ I need stuff to practice on...
  11. I just watched all his vids today! Awesome! Thanks for the replies!
  12. With locking tuners and a graphite nut, what would hold tuning stability better, a traditional 6 point/screw trem or a 2 point fulcrum trem? If it helps, I do not need to pull up. Trying to steer clear of a Floyd.
  13. Can I tape the camo pattern on top of the already clearcoated red, scuff the rest, spray black, tape over the black, spray gray, then clearcoat? Or would the clearcoat already over the red + the new clearcoat look bad?
  14. I want to refinish a BC Rich superstrat of mine into possibly somehting like this: From this: As you can see, the Gunslinger is already red, so I was wondering if I could simply scuff up the poly-clear coat, "paste" the camp pattern, and paint the gray and black. Possible? Or do I have to take off the entire finish and start from scratch...?
  15. Title says it all. If you got any extra, or stuff you aren't gonna use, lemme know!
  16. I like really tall stuff, like 6105 or 6100. I do alot of legato hammer-on and pull-off stuff, and tall frets make it easier to do this. With shorter frets I feel I have to really press down to get the same sound quality and I always end up hitting other strings or cramping my hand.
