  1. Ok heres my design concept for the paint job May or may not outline the flame maple with a pinstripe gold leaf line........ not sure on that yet.
  2. Bought some dice today which I MIGHT use for knobs. Regardless of whether I think it will work with this design, these would be awesome for guitar knobs. We built the back plate today out of polycarbonate. We traced around the kit plate with a jigsaw and used a grinder to smooth the edges. -WARNING FOR THOSE WHO BUY DRAGONFIRE KITS- The back plate for the kit is not the standard Gibson SG shape. NOT ONLY THAT but the one I got in THIS kit didn't fit the guitar body. I now have a black back plate with is both not standardized and wont fit its own kit....... useless *facepalms*
  3. Hey guys. I posted this on EverythingSG and my Facebook page so I thought I'd jump on this forum and pop it here too I look forward to the knowledge I can gain from this forum thank you guys in advance for any help you give me I just got my kit in the other day from America (I live in Melbourne Australia), from the Dragonfire store. Looks real nice. I'm going to replace just about all the parts bar the body and neck, but thats all I really wanted from the kit. Its a dead copy of the gibson SG body, Mahogany body with a flame maple top (very thin). The neck is made of mahogany with a rosewood fretboard and perloid inlays. The headstock is the classic Gibson/ current epiphone style. Yesterday I also ordered some more parts. Ill get to work painting this body while I wait for those to come in. Heres my shopping list from Guitarheads.com: 2ply TRC - WhitePearloid Humbucker Mounting Ring Set Item Options: COLOR: Red Switch Tip for Toggle Item Options: COLOR: Red Push/Pull Pot Quantity: 2 3-Way Toggle Switch - Chrome GraphTech BTUSQXL - Gibson Wilkinson Vintage 3x3 Tuners - Chrome In the near future I will be ordering a Gibson Tony Iommi humbucker for the birdge, and a Seymour duncan Seth Lover Model for the neck. I am not certain as to what to do with the bridge. I wanna ensure that my intonation and tuning are solid and the kit birdge looks pretty good. A decent copy of the tunomatic........ but ofcourse I can't be sure on that. If anyone knows the details of the tunomatics the guys from Dragonfire stock give me a yell. I'll ask them before I start installing the hardware in any case. I'm going to leave the paint job on this a secret for now. Suffice to say the name of the guitar is "Kandi" and I'm currently looking for small plastic items to use as knobs. I'll continue the ordering and building early next week. Thanks again guys
