My opinion, CARVE THE DRAGON, keep it very shallow, like the checkering on a gunstock. Then clearcoat. This way you preserve the natural beauty of the Mahogany but still add something unforgettable into the mix. Otherwise it's just another very well done example of a V clone. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Very cool wes, those fret markers are badass. Can't wait to see it finished! One of these days I'll attempt my first neck build, until then "buy and set" is my way to go.

With the exception of one (the first one I built) they play and sound incredible. Realizing that I'm going for a very specific demographic (metalheads, members of GWAR, etc.) and the fact that the bunch here seem to be VERY traditional in their tastes, I wasn't expecting much in the way of positive reactions. Thanks for your opinion, I'll start hitting up the craft fairs in the area and maybe generate more interest.
