  1. I found this diagram off the google and tried to wire my guitar accordingly. No sound comes from the guitar as a result. Is there an obvious issue that can be discerned from the diagram or is it more likely to be a mistake in my wiring? I won't have access to a multimeter for a few days so I can't check the components yet.
  2. Well, here we go again almost 2 years after last update. Nearing the 8 year anniversary of this project. Going to try to finish this in the next few months. Ordered multiple pieces of indian rosewood for the fretboard since I botched the last attempt and didnt have a spare. I have next week off so thats when I'm going to try to get most of the work done. Hoping my posting here will urge me not to procrastinate and delay this project any further.
  3. Here's some more work done. Gluing on some spruce: Routed and scraped a bit. Needs more work. Top and bottom. The pictures came out a bit blurry, not sure why but not much is lost. At the moment I'm calling it Spruce Springsteel for obvious reasons. Gonna have to put it off for a week or two while I'm away. Top still has to be bound and bottom side rounded over and hardware stuff routed. Main business will be the neck though which is very daunting :/.
  4. Well its been a while but I finally got started on this. One thing I have to say is that I really wish I had a proper planer. The amount of sanding, scraping and 'planing' is really starting to do my head in. I've already had a few nightmares about having to make stuff flat. I am also quite certain that in the greek mythology, in Hades, a form of torture was a roll of sandpaper and a mahogany plank that would never be flat. Here it is glued and sawn into a rough shape. And here are the third graded spruce tops glued up. I think they'll look a lot better after an undignified amount of sanding is done.
  5. Might be of interest for euro guys. Madinter
  6. That bridge with those pickups looks so great.
  7. Im sure i'm not the only one seeing this
  8. I voted for bluesy's es because if I was ever gonna buy a custom guitar, something like that would easily be my second choice.
  9. None of the ebony I've bought has been streaked or stained...
  10. An eggshell seems pretty fragile, a woody guitar made of wood strengthened with woody bracing made of wood is much stronger than it might seem. Ps. Unless you attack it with a hammer
  11. A pig is eating some chicken... I don't think the veggies are gonna like that.
  12. Now this might sound a little strange but it's good advice: take a jigsaw, cut out the rosette making sure you don't damage it, and mail it right over here. It does wonders to the tone of your guitar... and to the appearance of mine.
