  1. Cool, Excelent find. Im in Melbourne and havent been able to find these locally before now. Cheers.
  2. There are tutorials here on doing the monkey grip.....the lions claw routing.......Pyramid inlays, etc......all of which are copyrighted by Ibanez. Anyone seen Brians JPM decals or the Gilbert F-Holes on ebay? I aint saying its right but if the owner of the site is doing it?!?!?!?! This isnt Brian bashing, but come on Perry, dont take that 'hollier than thou' attitude just because you make your own guitars. Its great that you have your own opinion, but so do others mate.
  3. Brian Ive managed to buy 2 pickups from Jeremy, thread can be closed. Thanks.
  4. Hey Jeremy, That is what Im after, depends on the price tho. Cost is the reason Im lookin for 2nd hand. PM me with a price if you could.
  5. I believe the C2 is just a renamed Dimarzio, so either will do. Im after 1 maybe 2 pickups.
  6. pic 2 pic 3 pic 4 Ill get some better pics taken over the weekend.
  7. Where is Vic Park? You dont mean in Melbourne do you? It came from Vermont, Melbourne.
  8. Im a bit of an Ebay junkie, so its very rare that I look in the local classified newspaper ads anymore. Anyway I bought the paper today to have a look as I was bored on my lunch break. Scanning through the "I" section for Ibanez and "P" for Peavey................the two colums that really only take my interest, I found a Peavey Wolfgang ST, carved flame maple cap, trans green in colour. $1495 Australian. Now being the car salesman that I am, I thought I might be able to knock this guy down in price a bit, and if not well I could mess with his mind. hehe. 10 minutes later I had him down to $1200 over the phone. I thought it might be worth a look so I got his address and arranged a visit after work. To this very minute I really dont think the guy knew what he had. I walked into this guys music room and spotted the most beautiful green wolfy I have ever seen. Trying to contain my excitement, I proceeded to piss and moan about how green wasnt my real preference in colour and how the action was too high................cruel I know. Well to cut a long story short, I now own the green wolfy in question in its original hardcase, and with the action lowered and some new strings is the nicest sounding guitar in my collection. Oh yeah it ended up costing me $950. Thats $680 US. Moral........NEVER take the first or second price you are told. pics up soon.
  9. The tape was a 3M product. I bought it from an auto refinishing store......its called Fine Line Tape or something like that. Its used for pinstriping jobs etc. Its actually plastic not paper like regular masking tape. Also comes in half a dozen different sizes.
  10. Thanks guys. Ill get a clip up later this week.
  11. Hey Uncle 0s, if you could find the info on the manufacturers site that would be great.
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3749180244 http://www.godrules.net/images/PEARL6V_eSMALL.jpg http://www.godrules.net/images/PEARL6V_cSMALL.jpg Anyone seen these before? Jem and PGM knock off's. I just bought one to see what they are like. I picked the white Jem. I figure if the quality is ok then Ill replace the pickups and bridge. If i sux, Ill prolly just keep the body and part out the rest on ebay. I should get my money back on the pieces without a problem. Body is basswood so there shouldnt be any problems there. The monkey grip needs some minor routing to be correct and the jack socket needs to be replaced with the correct barrell jack. Hell I might even attempt the lions claw tutorial Brian did a while ago. The headstock just needs a small amount of wood removed to be the correct shape. I should get it within the week.
  13. .....Ah......Edward Hans Valen, the long lost second cousin of Eddie
  14. Hey Maiden, thanks for the PM. That looks incredible mate, who would've thought EVH would have inspired a purple and gold Les Paul. The finish looks killer, well done. I havent been around much as Ive been working on the house................built a deck, retaining wall, new fence and gate..................not as much fun as guitars but it has to be done to keep the other half happy;)
  15. Hey Maiden I love it, its definately something different. Cant wait to see it finished.
  16. Its almost finished, Ive done the last flow coat of clear, and assembled the guitar. It plays beautifully with a nice low action. There is an ever so slight orange peel finish in the paint but Im going to wait a month or so before I block it back and polish it. Its really glossy now but its gonna look unbeleivable when its buffed out. Ill get some pics up tonight.
  17. Thats right, each colour coat is higher than the last. 4 coats of clear fix that up tho.
  18. These logos are Water slide Decals. I found somewhere that can print them for me, although they arent cheap they're definately worth it.
  19. The stripes on the headstock are on the face only. As for sanding, this was my method: - Sand the already painted body (factory finish) with 600 grit dry paper to remove any sign of gloss. - Prime with PPG primer - wet sand with 800 grit to get a uniform finish - Spray with PPG polyurithane White. - Wet sand with 1000 grit for a smooth finish - mask up the body and spray PPG "Base Coat" red - mask up the body and spray PPG "Base Coat" black - DO NOT SAND either "Base Coat"!!!!!!!!!!! - Spray PPG Poly clear - Wet sand with 1500 grit to a smooth finish - Spray with 2nd coat of PPG Poly Clear - Wet sand with 1500 grit to a smooth finish - Spray with 3rd coat of PPG Poly Clear - Wet sand with 1500, then 2000, then buff. Im not saying that this is the best way, but it works for me. And remember, Im using Automotive 2 part poly paint, not acrylic or nitro. This stuff hardens like plastic within hours of applying. These are the logos I made. Ill clear the headstock tomorrow.
  20. Yes it will be cleared. I put the first couple of coats on it this morning. Ill get some pics up later this week.
  21. I am..........what you see is the masking tape with all the paint on it. It will get removed after painting.
  22. I got some more painting done today, now its just the decals and he clear coat left.
