  1. You are very quickly becoming the master of the super strat. Really liking your choices in timbers.
  2. I really hope either 1 or both of these show up in next months GOTM. Killer work. Love both of them.
  3. demonx - WARBIRD #1: I really wanted to vote for you this month. This is possibly one of the coolest super strats I have seen. I really think you have nailed this type of build and your paint skills are unmatched on this forum. FernandoEsteves - Evil Tele: I have to agree that more pics were needed. It was really hard to see any details but from a distance it looks really nice. Our Souls inc. – Patience: You got my vote. I followed this build and just loved to see how it kept becoming more itself as the project went on. I am humbled that you do this without templates. The design just flows for me. I personally would have matched the headstock ears to the neck again but that is just my personal choice. Nice work. gpcustomguitars - Bass for a friend: I was fascinated by your build and at some points thought your work seemed a bit sloppy (sorry if that is too honest). I was impressed with your ability to fabricate most of the functional parts of this bass and I love how it turned out in the end. I think that a little more consistency in the fabrication of parts, (ie: the ferrules look decidedly different) would have made this a GOTM winner in my mind. Keep it coming. I would love to see more. verhoevenc - OMarlin - I love the design, I hate the blue. Sorry, just my opinion. fretman_2 - Black Snake - Great idea but I think the execution could have been greater. The pickguard was great but the glue line in the headstock was too visible. The shape of the headstock was reminiscent of a rattler but the vision needed more oomph. Keep working it and I think you will have a winner. Menapia - BLUE VELVET – Looks pro. Love the design and would love to own one. It is still too mainstream for me to take my vote.
  4. This might sound like a crazy idea but here goes. I think this would be a great kickstarter project. Estimate what you think you can harvest from the walnut, and let people order from what you have estimated. Typical of a kickstarter project, you use those funds to purchase the lumbersmith and when you have enough money from preorders you cut and ship said walnut to the folks who funded you.
  5. sorry, not seeing it. Trying to see the patterns but just cannot.
  6. the top of the guitar does not match the earlier photos. . .I am a bit confused. . .
  7. Just looking at the screws in the pickguard which do not appear to be sunken evenly as well as the rear trem route which appears to be wavy would lead me to believe it is not really a fender. I have not had a look at a fender neck in recent years but I would assume there would be some sort of serial number or marking on it. Another thought. Doesn't fender normally have their logo on the heel plate too?
  8. sounds like a giant pain in the arse but looks like you have it under control Just glad he/she isnt my customer.
  9. I agree with Donnb. The contrast looks just fine to me, Would love to have it in my collection.
  10. I thought the product data sheets were on the link that Wes posted up above. That should have most of the info you are looking for.
  11. I wish I could get my hands on some Rustins. They do not sell it in the U.S. and will not ship it overseas.
  12. Just reread my previous post and it really sucks. I will try to explaiin this a little better. First look for a photo hosting site to upload your photos to. If you do not already have one google search "image hosting". After you have an account, upload your photo. Second, look at the image in your hosting site and right click the image and select "Copy image URL". Third, click in the reply window on this site and select the Image icon. This will pop up a window to enter the URL of your photo. Left click into the text field and press ctrl+v to paste your url in. Click OK. Your photo should now appear in your post. click the Post button below the reply window to complete your post and you are done.
  13. You need to have a photo hosting site. Once you have uploaded a photo there you need the photo url. Click the Image icon that appears above the reply window after you have clicked into it and paste the photo's url in the box.
  14. I agree with the fiery orange looking cool but the clover doesn't work for me. Too many themes I think. It just doesnt seem like it fits.
  15. Good point, but if he does a laminate on the headstock it will hide it for the most part. . . .
  16. Yeah. . . umm. I had a few drinks last night. I really should have googled it before posting. My bad.
  17. which stores are you seeing this in?? I would love to see something like this near me.
  18. I found all this out the hard way. I used a dragon exclusively to shape the neck on my first build and was planning on using it pretty soon on my next one. It takes a little time with the rasp but eventually you do gain a bit more finesse/subtlety.
  19. I am enjoying this build a lot. The more I look over this thread however the more I want to build one myself. . . D'oh!
  20. Ouch. Maple screws my lungs up pretty badly so I am hoping you are ok.
  21. After seeing the Anchor completed I am really excited to see what you do here.
