  1. good to know being that mine is half that I may down tune half step
  2. very nice what string set are you using I am also building A smaller guitar my body is 10" long though so it will even be smaller

  4. update just need a volume pot and to put the tuning machines on properly then she is all done
  5. yes youtube is a wonderful place to learn things im actually making my first guitar as well a little unconventional but my next one I will carve out myself I also wish I started earlier
  6. no you are right it is very tiny but this is the first time I've done this and I dont have a large printer otherwise I would have printed it bigger I also have roughly 24hrs of print time invested into this guitar including screw ups and re prints so it does take quite a while I also figured it as more of a travel size anyway
  7. for those in doubt here is the strength of press fit I made a video showing yes I will still be securing the parts even more in some fasion have yet to decide currently the only things holding that piece to the neck are 2 screws and press fit pegs
  8. that was the origanal size I wanted to print it I took that measurement off my dads 1972 yamaha hallowbody then measured my fender and warlock and realized I could chop 9/16ths off saving time and plastic here is that piece fixed next to my scooter battery for size comparison
  9. need to drill the holes for the bridge but here it is today

  11. thats a good point both of you thank you for your responses I went ahead and cut out a little bit in the design for the wood hopefully its an improvement from the other way
  12. update looking almost done just need to adjust some things
  13. so I have a wierd question the other day I was looking at my design and though how much easier it would be to mount a pickup if I glued a thin peice of wood in the pickup housing. now here is my question how do you think combining 2 materials like plastic and wood would affect resonance?
