Thank you so much! I'll give it a watch and see what I can do. Yeah the soldering looked a little sloppy to me, but it is all firmly connected. I was hoping it would be a simple solder fix, but I'll probably have to disassemble as he's done to diagnose it fully.

Hey there! I'm chasing down a hum on my old Takamine EG540C, starting with the output jack. The hum goes away when touching the metal of the jack or the cable. The giant glob of solder concerns me, but I'm so new to this that I frankly have no idea. How does this look to you?
