  2. If you're going to try it, you might give Duplicolor's instant chrome finish a shot. It's not real chrome, mind you, and I don't know how well it will work, but it'll certainly be far easier than trying to electroplate a piece of wood. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/gold-chrome.html I got some. The shiny cap was really appealing. But that stuff is just silver good paint - it sure ain't chrome.
  3. For anyone that is interested, I have posted this tutorial: http://hackolutions.com/GuitarSwirling.htm
  4. Everything I'm currently unloading is listed above - what are you interested in?
  5. I've always hated the way the Soldano sound good no matter what you plug into it and no matter you set the knobs to. It's kind of you to take it off my hands. What's your address?
  6. I'm very happy with the bridge. That bridge and the locking kluson style tuners makes for a very stable combination. This Strat stays in tune great.
  7. The technical particulars: mahogany body from Warmoth's thrift shop which was pretty light finished with a few coats of tung oil one piece rosewood neck w/jumbo frets and shell inlay dots on the fingerboard - I left it unfinished Lace Chrome Dome pickups Gotoh Wilkinson vintage-style Strat bridge Gotoh locking Kluson tuners Graphtech nut and string tree Electrosocket jack cool knobs with shell tops
  8. This is the first parts guitar I put together all by myself. The body is one of USA Custom Guitars' fine ash Tele's. The neck is scalloped so I had to get that from Warmoth. I wanted an Antigua style finish but didn't have any good color samples. Ty at Roxy Guitar Finish did a very cool finish - not quite Antigua but very sweet indeed. The pickups pictured are Kinman Broadcasters, standard Kluson style tuners, modern 6 saddle bridge. I have since swapped the bridge pickup out for a Duncan Hot Rails.
  9. Pro preferred but I'd consider a Flyer for the right price. Any color is fine.

  11. I don't remember exactly - more than $200 but less than $300 - let's call it $250.
  12. Thanks for the reception folks! I was looking around and couldn't find the beer. Then it occured to me that I'm the new guy and that I should be bringing the beer. So if you make it to the great northwest, I'll buy you a beer.
  13. The body was hand painted by my mother. A few more pictures: http://www.hackolutions.com/seuss/seuss%20010.jpg http://www.hackolutions.com/seuss/seuss%20013.jpg http://www.hackolutions.com/seuss/seuss%20015.jpg http://www.hackolutions.com/seuss/seuss%20018.jpg The neck and body are from USA Custom Guitars. The clear coat on the neck and body were done by Roxy Guitar Finish. The bridge, tuners, pots, and most other hardware except pickups are from Warmoth. The two humbucker sized pickups are TV'Trons direct from TV Jones. The middle pickup is a Dimarzio HS-3 and I got it and the gold cover from universaljems.com. The HS-3 pickup ring came from stewmac.com.
  14. I've lurked here off and on for a while and really find the advice and tutorials here are super helpful. I've just finished a couple projects this last month and I couldn't have completed them without the tips I've gotten on the net. Thanks!
