  1. I am about to move (back) to Atlanta. A while ago (I don't know where) I saw some boxes online that were perfect for shipping an acoustic guitar. They were like 5-10 bucks a piece, made of cardboard, and looked like just the ticket. Any thoughts? It's a really cheap guitar buy I enjoy her.
  2. Can you send me some pictures? dbongiorno@bellsouth.net Thanks, Drew
  3. I'm looking for just about any version Charvel or Jackson Surfcaster someone would like to sell to me. The only exclusion are models without f-holes. Anybody have one they would like to unload? Thanks!
  4. Is there a list of body styles you already have programed?
  5. I just know some people here are gonna freak when they see this. So, I thought I would share. The Gigerstein!!!
  6. I wanna help with your logo design! Why? Because your from Ashville, NC. and I LOVE Ashville! Spent some time up there a few years back. Everyone was so nice to me. Suppose I should be nice back! Anyway... You can contact me at dbongiorno@bellsouth.net I would love to do ya a "Solid"! Let me know.
  7. Yes most "current" PDA browsers can handle JavaScripting. In some cases it is not as robust as in the Java for PalmOS, but it is still functional and can easly handle this task. BTW - Many PDAs will run some form of spread sheet program. This calculator could easly be reconstructed in a spread sheet. Just a thought...
  8. That's easy! Buy a PDA, connect it to the net, and go to that web page. Then, save it for later. If your PDA won't read that site, I can recreate that web calculator as a mobile web page lickity split.
  9. I hear it shaves as close as a blade or your money back!
  10. I have been a lighting designer for nearly 15 years. I have worked with Dichroics for most of it. I can tell you first hand that it will scratch (quite easily in fact). I would also recommend that if you want to get the most out of it you should put a light source behind it... like a white LED. Then it will change color depending on where you stand. Panting the back black will basically make the glass look black. You could get the same effect with any glass if that is your intention The basic principal of the Dichroic filter that is fired onto the glass is that it deflects all other wavelengths of light. So in essence... If you have Dichroic glass that is rated at 525 nanometers (which is red by the way) and you shoot a full spectrum light (white) at it, every other color other than 525nm will be reflected back away from the glass while allowing the one chosen wavelength to pass through. People that design Dichroic lighting fixtures usually use a reflector kit behind the light source so that all bounced back light from the Dichroic filter gets re-used. This makes the light appear to be brighter. Back to the color changing aspect... Since Dichroic glass only allows one wavelength to pass though when you look at the glass from different angles you can see other colors of the spectrum on the surface of the glass even though the light emanating is only one color. Here is a chart to know what nanometer to choose for custom colors: http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/java/po...ght/michellevy/ Good luck!
  11. I know the question has already been answered, but there is some extra info here. I was experiencing trouble with wood lingo a few months ago. I found these simple explanations very useful. Thought I'd share. what is 4/4 and 8/4? When a log is first felled and sliced into rough boards, the caliper on the dial used to determine the thickness of the board is divided into quarters of one inch. Therefore, the miller will set his thickness to 4/4 if he wants an inch thick board, or he will set it to 8/4 if he wants a two inch thick board, 12/4 if he wants 3 inches, and so forth. What is a Board Foot? You figure a board foot the way you would figure a square foot. For a 1" thick or 4/4 board a square foot is the same as a board foot. You multiply the length times the width and divide the result by 144. For a 2" thick or 8/4 board, a board foot equals square feet times 2. You multiply the length times the width and divide the result by 144, then multiply the answer by 2. For a 3" thick or 12/4 board, a board foot equals square feet times 3. Board feet are always determined by the rough rather than the finished thickness. What is S3S or S4S? An S3S board is one that has been planed to 25/32 and straight lined on one edge. An S4S board is one that has been planed to 25/32 and straight lined on both edges, and is square. An S2S board is one that has been planed only and may have a curved edge on both sides. All the above info wa gleemed from this site: The Lumber Lady

  16. Does anybody know when Universal Jems will be back in business (on the web)? The website has been down for a few weeks (vacation, restructuring). I wanna buy some veneer from them. Anybody have a good source if Universal can't sell to me right now? I am looking for some quilt, but Ebay is thin right now. Thanks!
  17. Where in the US can you get Mahogany body blanks for 40-50 dollars?
  18. Thanks everybody! Will look into it and post the results.
  19. I just moved to Atlanta, Ga. and can't seem to find a good wood supplier (much to my surprise). I just drove out to "Georgia Hardwoods" and was sorely disappointed. Anybody have any suggestions? Ordering wood online scares me only because the websites that sell it are either horribly overpriced or poorly written. The poorly written part scares me because I can't browse the inventory and even if I could most of them don't return email (what's up with that). Thoughts? Questions? Comments? I really just want a real store that I can physically visit and hand pick my wood. I will happily drive up to an hour away. Thanks all!
  20. "Heavy Duty Studs"? Sounds like a male strip club.... for men.
  21. FEAR THE REAPER! Pretty scary Reaper! That was your 666th post.
