  1. hey im also a lefty.. warmoth.com has nut files for $8.00 but i think there odd sized an x-acto saw works well to get a groove started with a bit of fine (1500) grit sand paper and a thin sheet of tin or aluminum inside to keep the sandpaper from wondering about in the groove you can slot yours for a few bucks.. like so: sandpaper folded around tin > \|/ ........................... slot in nut: -v-v-v etc i looked pretty much everywhere for pre slotted lefty nuts i couldnt find any so i bit the bullet and bought some blanks its not too hard really just go slow ...really slow when ur sawing or sanding take your time and itll turn out great just my two cent good luck
  2. well ..here is a lil recording of the pedal.. ibanez grx20 >behringer x-vamp>behringer ub502 mixer >computer recorded with audacity if the link is posted wrong or somethign just slap me my mp3
  3. well i really dont have a great answer for you but what i would do is either use a piezo bridge on a regular electric with a decent acoustic pedal or just get one of those stands that holds the acoustic at perfect height to play while standing .. sorry i cant be more help ..people will eventually give you more answers ... welcome to the forum
  4. just thought i would update.. i got the behringer x-vamp cause a buddy sold me his v for 100 bucks so i was kinda skint after that purchase.. it arrived i opened it hmm it sounded ok.. i played with the distortion a lil nothing super heavy like i wanted but decent lots of harmonic squeals and my ibanez's tone came thru nice.. like a lil more than ac/dc but not quite pantera if you can imagine it.. so i read the manual wich sux btw .. lol i keep playing with the buttons then i find the amp modeling and OMG shred city lol this thing definatley has more gain than you need lol i really like it.. the wah kinda sux i think but i have a real wah so no big deal .. but yeah so far this thing far surpassed what i thought it would for 70 bucks ill see if i can record some sunday and put it online
  5. Daddario's on all my guitars ibanez=10's strat =12's acoustic 12 string =phosphor bronze extra light they dont seam to break no matter how much i bend or hammer on them played em so long now i dont even try other brands
  6. haha thanks guys yeh i was thinking of getting the gnx1 after listening to some demos.. but a buddy said i could buy his flying vee for 100 bucks.. so now i dont know what to do ) ...i think im gonna get the guitar (its a no name) lol not a scratch on it.. 24 frets ...floyd rose(lisenced) .. 2 sucky pu's but that easy to change..eentually il have to convert it to lefty but heck.. i think its a decent deal on it . yah i dont have a huge music store around here .. the one i got close has a few boss pedals but there old guys they think overdrive is all anyone needs :| so im still looking at a pedal maybe the rp series or vamp .. vamp sounds pretty good from what ive heard.. digitech distortion sounds like compressed or something ..i dunno those gnx pedals r sweet though they got all kinds of techo gadgets built in lol
  7. cool thanks man maybe its just realplayer making musicians freind sound diff i dunno the mp3 sounds cool heading over to digitechs site now
  8. flying V here also.. lots of people say that the cant play em sitting but i like putting my knee in the middle of it to hold it up the neck angle suits me perfectly.. eh what do i know lol rock on
  9. maiden69 you happen to have any recordings of the gnx1 by any chance ? i figure if i sell my pedals i could get it fairly quickly.. i listented to the sound clips @ musicians freind ..to be honest none of there recordings sound right lol ... on any effect from any company lol..
  10. hmm well on that note... can anyone name anything amp or multi effects $100 bucks or under i can plug my headphones into and jam on .. i dont wanna spend alot i mean i got a wah pedal, delay pedal, and a chorus pedal i just want some thing with some decent shreddy gain till i can afford a half stack im pretty tired of jamming on practice amps anyhow thanks .. yeah the gnx1 and boss me50 look nice n all but really i just want somethign to get me by for a couple of months
  11. so my lil practice amp died and i cant play my electric and i was looking at the behringer xvamp or the digitech rp50 .. they both have multi effects but mainly i just need something i can plug my headphones into and have some decent distortion/reverb and such any of you got opinions on either one ... trying to stay under 100 bucks here ... heh
  12. EMG-dg20's ordered so in a few weeks ill have the strat refinished and put back together and ill try to borrow a cam to take some pics along the way YAY i cant wait and yeah i will try the wah b4 or after diff peices of the efects chain to see what i like .. and hopefully i can find "my tone" well the metal master does do a fair bt of eq work it has a "low" "hi"and a control labled morph that is essintally a scoop control full left give a pro co rat type of sound middle is a metal zone pedal type of 80's metallica sound and all the way to the right is a "nu" metal type of sound .. sorry for the poor explanation but thats the best i can give *shrugs* the vamp on the otherhand has beautifull sounds ranging from the old 60 fuzz to the hardest death tones and everythign in between .. so im pretty well set for distortion and i can dial in about any sound i want .. just never tryed using the eq>dist>eq setup b4 thanks everyone
  13. well i read the 2 links that were posted ...about getting great tone.. and all well i dont have 3 eq pedals ..but would the following work to try it out ok heres what im thinking with the gear i have: hook my guitar into my zoom bfx708 ( i know its a bass pedal but i like it for guitar) use it with no effects except eq only then my digitech metal master "heavy metal distortion" pedal then my beringher vamp2 with just eq and no effects then into my amp .. i dont got a power break but i live in the back of beyond so i can jam loud as i want really ... just wondering if that would work decent i mean both the bxf708 and the vamp2 have fairly decent eq's on them .. and it sounds interesting enough to try out ... i dont have enough "interconnects" tonight to try it or i would.. but tomarrow in gonna pick up a few short 1/4" cables ... also .. where would a wah pedal go in a effects chain like that ?
  14. well i am not quite shure what he meant by boost the mids ... becasue yeah it would sound bad to me.. personally what i do for blues, rock stlyes is set my amp like so.. Bass 5-7 mids 5-7 treble 7-10 gain 5 vol - 5-6 with that on my strat i get a nice creamy sound running thru the amp alone (crate g600) this gives me a nice clean tone with just enough bite to respond to my picking dynamics ..a smooth picking stlye gives me nice and clean and if i pick a bit hard i get a nice on the edge sound and for a harder edge i just up the gain a lil for a metal sound i use my digitech heavy metal distortion pedal it has a knob to scoop the mids and whatnot it gives anywhere from randy roahds to old metallica, megadeath, pantera etc and leave my amp settings alone but i use my ibanez whene playing metal stlyes .. just my $0.02 cents ..
