  1. Thanks dude, great tutorial!
  2. I asked for a plane for Christmas and my sister gave me a Black and Decker 3 1/4" 5.2 amp power plane. I don't really know anything about power planes and I'm considering exchanging it for a manual since that's what I'm familiar with. Any opinions? Thanks!
  3. This jigsaw is on sale at Sears on Friday for $40. I'm thinking about getting it to cut bodies (more feasible than a bandsaw). http://www.epinions.com/content_104745438852 What do you think? Thanks!
  4. I was cleaning out my attic and came across a thirty year old kids' acoustic guitar. My sister played it when she was a kid and I played it when I was little too. Figured I'd do something with it. Right now it's a real pain to tune, has really high action, each string is at a different height, and it's all scratched up. Any creative ideas on what to do with it? I'm think at the least, put in new tuners, new bridge, and refinish the body. Here's a picture of her.
  5. Nevermind, saw my guitar tech today and he used a dollop of wood glue to reattach it.
  6. The bottom strap button on my acoustic fell out real smooth and won't stay stuck in there anymore. I was thinking about putting some glue around the peg and sticking it back in, good idea or bad idea? Thanks!
  7. Just signed up, so figured I'd introduce myself. I got my first guitar, a Fender Strat, about five years ago and really enjoy messing around with it. I haven't done anything too epic, my biggest project was changing the pickups, sure made a difference though, real nice sound now. Anyway, I've been doing some carpentry around the house and lots of electronic work in my car, so I've been tossing around the idea of stepping up and building my own guitar (hopefully the first of many). While looking up resources and I found this site and it's amazing! I've only read a couple tutorials so far but learned tons. But yeah, looking forward to reading about everyone's building experiences and adding my own!
