For anyone who is having trouble removing the sticky goo that is
left behind after removing stickers from a guitar here is the best way
to do it without using any chemicals that could harm your finish:
|
You will need:
|
· A soft cloth
|
| |
· A soft nail brush (or other nylon
haired brush)
|
| |
· A credit card
|
| |
· A coin
|
| |
· A standard pencil eraser
|
| |
· And Lots and lots of spit!
|
STEP 1
Start by scraping at the goo with the credit card
this will remove
the light stuff.
STEP 2
Next spit onto the goo and swirl it around with your finger
STEP 3
next you start working the rubber quite hard in a circular motion
until you hear squeaking. The squeaking usually means that you have
broken through the goo.
STEP 4
Wipe over with a soft cloth (I like to use a face
towel as it is soft yet kinda bumpy)
To remove spit and then scrape again with the credit card to remove
the goo/spit/rubber mixture.
STEP 5
If there is still goo left then use the brush and the coin to loosen
up the goo a bit and then re do steps 1 through 4.
Hope that helps, Weezerboy.
