All the guitars seem to be Tele profile, hardtails, with a pair of single coils, and a Les Paul style switch. The unique thing, the cool thing is the way the guitars are finished and ornamented. They're art works. Check out the site. Each guitar is built on a theme and it's reflected in the paint, inlays, and added details. The first one I saw was Henry Kaiser's SushiGirl, with the plate of plastic sushi in the window. Instead of "rhythm"-"treble" on the switch, like a regular Les Paul switch, it says "sho-yu" (soy sauce) - "wasabi". They play around with the choices. butnut Posted August 9, 2004 Report Share Posted August 9, 2004 how do you make custom donuts? I take a stock donut, remove the gold lettering with thinner and sand with 1200. I got a sheet of 1/8" rub on letters and go to town. I clear with lacquer and sometimes poly. http://community.webshots.com/photo/56197873/87341942NPzioB I made a few with creme edge by painting a creme donut black and remove the paint off the edge. butnut Posted August 9, 2004 Report Share Posted August 9, 2004 Unscrew the 'ring nut'. Some Epi's have the donut glued on...gotta pry it off carefully. Most graphic/art supply shops carry rub-on transfer lettering. Remove the control cover on the back of the body to hold the switch when screwing the donut down being careful not to scratch the clear coat on the donut...it's paint now, not plastic.
