Wood grain

Recommended Posts

I don't care much for grain patterns on top, cause body will be fully painted.

I was thinking structurally C would be best, considering wrap and all.

Two pieces working against each other.

What do you think?

your right on about that, the press against each other if the want to warp, so it will be less likely to warp (so my grade 10 wood teacher said)

Either way, C would be my choice

id hafta agree with lex, a and c would be most likely to warp while b and d are most sturcturally strong, tho if you glue properly and dont introduce the wood in to an atmosphere with too much moisture before you hard finish you should be ok

Local luthier also adviced C. Although this is structually less strong as B and D.

A and C are more likely to wrap, but still everybody seems to choose this option. Appearantly for body, the looks are more important than wrap I guess.

For neck wrap is of bigger concern.
